So, while I'm sitting here wasting the day, I like to music. What I need is a piece of software that can play MP3s that isn't an absolute resource hog like winamp. Anyone got any suggestions?

I had no idea that word could also be used as a verb.

Thief: "I have come to a realisation. Dragons are not real in a general sense, but they may exist in certain specific cases."
Fighter: "Like how quantum mechanics describes how subatomic particles can spontaneously pop into existence at random!"
Thief: "No, that's stupid and stop making up words."

I had no idea that 8mb of memory is considered a resource hog now.

Somebody better tell AIM to chill the fuck out with its 11mb usage.

Ok, with my shitty CPU, winamp likes to eat anywhere between 15 and 20 percent of my CPU Clock time. I'm running an old p4 1.4ghz that intel gave to me years ago when I worked at best buy. =)

on my machine (P3 1000 / 896MB ram) winamp takes 32MB or memory, and about 7% cpu time, with 15% spikes. Foobar is about 6K and 5-8%.

Looks ugly though.

I happen to think the little icon in the systray looks quite suave.

That must be one mother of a play list to eat up that much ram. Out of curiosity, how many songs in it?

WMP10 only uses between 5 and 7 for me on both our machines. Plus I love the little taskbar quickbutton bar.

Downgrade to winamp2.
I was in the Virgin Islands once. I met a girl, we ate lobster, drank piƱa coladas. At sunset, we made love like sea otters. That was a pretty good day. Why couldn't I get that day over, and over?

Phh.... I'm using a Celeron 1.1 GHz, and I never notice a change in performance when I use Winamp. I'm sure my old AMD K6 with 200 MHz could run it without a sweat.
