Well, Charlie's lived with me for about a whole day now. We got him last night at around 7:00 or so...I forget when I said.

But he spent one day in my house down in Scottsdale, where he promptly pooped all over the closet and took many naps. He also met the cat (who did not like him) and the Warchief Gus (who learned to like him).

Around 8:00 today, we arrived at my home in Flagstaff, where we'll be living for awhile. We watched Justice League Unlimited, D.I.C.E., and Teen Titans together. Then, I took a few pictures of him just for show.

My camera was dying, so I could only take two pictures before it bit the dust.

Here he is on his claimed dominion of the couch.

Here's a closer up of him. He's quite shy!

And, just for kicks, here's a picture of me wearing the monocle I got for Christmas.

More pictures coming as soon as I can get batteries.

That's the only bad thing about puppies, they crap everywhere until they learn where to take a dump and where not to.

Well, it's been an interesting day so far...

-I woke up and thought I had time to brush my teeth, etc. before I took him out to go poo and he promptly went on my bathroom floor (my fault)

-Three or four times, we went out and he didn't go, then went right when we came back in (his fault)

-He's now barking at a fork (???)

1 & 2) Puppies do that. My sheltie was raised for her first few weeks with us in the house...rarely would she go outside, always on my carpet in my room.

3) Charlie is trying to warn you of something dire! The fork is plotting with the spoon to over throw your reign in the kitchen and have you as stir-fry! Gasp!

Is it a shiny fork? Can he see himself on the fork? That may be why he is barking.

No, he just sprawled out on the floor and barked at it like it was another dog...I don't think he could see himself, anyways.

I took away the fork and now he's enjoying a tasty biscuit.

Do puppies get stage fright? He seems like a very secretive pooper and I think he may be discinlined to go due to the fact that there's a busy street near my house.

Yes, they do, especially if they've been disciplined negatively (harsh words or hitting) for going where they are not supposed to. They understand that as "Don't go in front of me" instead of "don't go here."

Eventually they get over it if they are praised when they do go in the right place.

BTW, is it a good idea to praise them even if they don't go outside? Like, if you go outside and nothing happens, should you still praise them just so they associate the outdoors with good stuff?

I'm still having a hard time discerning my dog's 4:45am bedroom door-scratchings. Usually it means "Let me in, nobody else is home and that freaks me out" but sometimes (like this morning) it means "Let me outside or I'll poop everywhere."
I don't know how to be sexy. If I catch a girl looking at me and our eyes lock, I panic and open mine wider. Then I lick my lips and rub my genitals. And mouth the words "You're dead."

TRAUMA STRIKES THE HOUSEHOLD!

It has not been a good day for Charlie! He woke me up at 5:30 AM and tried to trick me into thinking it was time for him to go out! But after I realized he still had a few hours until it was time go out, he wept openly at the failure of his plan!

After a blissful nap, it was time for us to go to school...or rather, me. Sadly, Charlie had to go back into his crate. When I returned two hours later, we went outside for a little while (he didn't have to go, go fig) and when we came back in, I accidentally stepped on his foot

He cried and cried and cried, seemingly oblivious to my attempts to console him, but he finally came around and forgave me.

I don't have the heart to tell him I have to crate him again in an hour to go to class

Answer: Neither. Every time you constrain a puppy, and his will to be free, you kill off a part of his very very cute, little soul. You are a horrible monster. I can only hope that one day Charlie breaks free of your oppressive tyranny and escapes to a better life.

Although my distaste for you as a human being is brobdingnagian,
