Apparently I set my resolution too high for my POS monitor... so every time i start Far Cry the screen blanks then the monitor goes into power save...

I tried using Far Cry's so called "Configurator" to bring Far Cry's resolution back to a workable level... and when that didnt work to 800x600 (Minimum) The configurator seems to be totally ineffective... how can i get this thing working without reinstalling... Any tips?

Sounds like it isn't the resolution if that didn't fix it.
Use the config tool to reset everything to default.

I know its resolution =p Even if i hadnt been raising resolution gradually at the time... The symptoms are the exact thing i use to demonstrate the maximum resolution of the CRT's we carry at Fry's. Anywho.. I need an alternative to the "Configurator" there is no "Default" option.. however you can use "Auto Detect" or "Low" but I think the problem is that this config thing isnt changing the actual .cfg therefore the game is starting in 1200x900 or some crazy shit.

I'm going off memory here, as I don't have FarCry installed..

But in the Main folder, or Data folder, is the Farcry.cfg/.ini, or Game.cfg/.ini. It has the raw options you're looking for.

I looked around in the system configuration but couldn't find resolution. However, I set all my settings to absolute lowest and saved the config. Just copy this into your system.cfg in your main folder and it should work like new:

code:

-- Attention: This file is generated by the system, do not modify! Editing is not recommended!

Just delete them. It'll resort to default configurations anyway. At least, any halfway decent engine would.

Eh, they're probably only going to talk about MOPAR this week anyhow, not like you'll be missing much.
