Yet another trip to the hospital in regards to my rising white blood cell count today. Yet more blood tests being done.

It really doesn't help when the nurse who's doing it is incompitant too. When i say, "Hey, i don't think you tied the rubber band on my arm tight enough to pop a vein in my arm," pretending i didn't say anything and then moving on to try and dig for a vein in my hand with the needle because, "I just can't find a vien in your arm there!" isn't exactly going to warm my heart. If you've ever had blood drawn from the back of your hand before, you know it's not pleasant.

So then after finally finding a vein in my hand and sticking me she's not able to get enough blood through there so she gives me this nasty look and says, "You know, you really need to drink more water before coming and getting blood taken. Anyways, i'm gonna go find someone else to try and get some blood from you." It was all i could do not to strangle her. The other FOUR TIMES this month i've had to have fairly large amounts of blood drawn for various testing the nurse doing the draw was able to find a vein in my right arm instantly.

So anyways, i then get moved to another station while she goes to find someone else who'll come and go all vampire on my ass. After another 15 minutes this old black grandmother comes in and i think to myself, "Fuck ya, this'll be quick now," and it was. She ties the rubberband thing around my arm like she's trying to squeeze it off and takes all of .0001 seconds before going, "Ya, there's a big on." She then proceeds to ram the needle in (not pleasant) and draw off about 6-7 good sized vials of blood.

To top all this off, since i've started the fast (Which is going well in case you were wondering. Lost 11lbs since i started last week.) i'm not supposed to get much blood drawn because my energy levels are in the shitter. So right now i'm sitting in my chair shaking and feeling like i just drank enough for a decent buzz and rambling incoherently.

Oh, and since i'm being reffered to the Hemo-wtfever specialists (vampires) for more tests i can expect even MORE blood being drawn for the same tests because they don't like relying on lab tech results and would rather do stuff in house. To top it off, if the inflammation test comes back negative i'm gonna have to have a bone marrow byopsy from either my chest plate or hip to see whether or not i have leukimia.

So i'm feeling like shit today.

Sounds like a shitty time to be going on a starvation diet.
I don't know how to be sexy. If I catch a girl looking at me and our eyes lock, I panic and open mine wider. Then I lick my lips and rub my genitals. And mouth the words "You're dead."

A fun fact: nearly every hospital in this country fires nurses with experience to make way for cheaper costs, er, fresh blood.

Of course, this is true to almost any industry, but a far more frequent occurrence in the field of medicine.

Never be afraid to complain if you get horrid care from a nurse. Ask to speak to the Director of Nurses or the Nursing Manager. My mom has been a nurse for about 35 years. She's been Director of Nursing, Assistant Dir of Nursing and the Nursing Manager on and off for the past 10 or 15 years. If someone needs to go back in for retraining it's best that they find out before a shoddy nurse kills someone.
