Topic: What should I do about my afro?
Suddar
posted 05-09-2004 11:04:45 PM
Alright, my afro is growing out of control and may in face someday engulf an innocent bystander/city.

So! I leave it to you socially adept folks at EC to help me. Go to my profile and look at my picture and tell me what to do with it..plz

Some options I'm playing with:
1. trim it
2. just throw some gel in it and call it good
3. leave it gel-free, don't cut it, and just take special care in the morning to let it dry in a way that isn't so crazy

Any other ideas? If not, which of those three should I go with?

Is it an actual round afro or just a lot of hair?

why not go extreme, get it cut real short.
Dont make me slap you so hard your bucket spins around, and around, and stops sideways, thus confusing you, and making you run about London wearing your bucket, a g-string, and carrying a stick, smacking the ground while yelling "MAGICALLY DELICIOUS! MAGICALLY FUCKING DELICIOUS!"- {Tal} to Mortious

It's pretty round. I'd say it's still technically just "a lot of hair," as it isn't really curly enough to be an afro...but it's close enough.

Trim the bulk. It looks... cumbersome.

Looks pretty bad, unfortunately. I feel like a mushroom when I do it.

Definitely make it perfectly global, like Samuel L. Jackson's in Pulp Fiction.

ask your woman, and then do whatever she tells, you, usually works when I want to do something style-wise to myself, since she's the one ultimately you want to impress.

True enough. Guess I was just seeking some extra opinions to make sure I didn't make some freaky mistake.

Traditionally, 17 year olds aren't concerned with looking professional.

I wasnt the traditional 17 year old. And honestly, you should start thinking about that sort of stuff at 16.

Besides, it's getting into hotter summer weather. Long hair is a pain in the ass in hot weather.

And you're young. This is the only time your life where you can reasonably expect to get away with some sort of experiment with your hair and not catch flack for it.

I have experimented, now I'm just going for what I like. I'm not going to bother looking professional right now because I don't have a need to.

You look like a younger version of Nabeshin from Excel Saga.

I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not.

What do you think the afro was!?

And since Gee suggested you keep the afro, I suggest you do the exact opposite of what someone like Gee suggests.

Lazy emo-boy depression hair.

He needs a mohawk or spikey hair or one of those Kid and Play style box tops. That would be great on Suddar. We could use him to play horseshoes.

Keep it.

One thing the whole emo thing did right was the hair. I love super-curly fluffy doom hair.

Thou shalt never eclipse the Leopold, though. Ask him about his braid sometime.

Actually, Leopold and I have concluded that our hair is identical and birthed from the same evil demon, as mine does all of the same stuff.
