The 1st movie is the sole reason to see the 2nd.
And the first is... dunno... the martial arts movie, it is the movie people hope to make whenever they make a movie where people fight other people. If you were to extract the kick-ass fights from the first, you could create 3 normal martial arts movies somehow. It just has that much.
A human being cannot admit to being a fan of action movies in general without having ever seen this movie. It captures everything a martial arts/action movie should be, while at the same time making cool characters that are actually interesting.
