I'm not sure if you'll like this news or not, depending on how you feel about Brian Herbert raping the Dune series for all the money he could. They finally announced they will be releasing the final Dune novels that were outlined by Frank Herbert before he died. They are splitting the book into two, making Dune 7 & 8 called Hunters of Dune and Sandworms of Dune.

Target date is 2005.

It's like writing more foundation novels from a napkin that Asimov wrote when drunk.

Or the extra hitchhiker's guide book they pressed and compiled from notes on Adam's computer.

If it's good, then that rocks. If it sucks, then I don't have to read it

This could be good or bad...depends how structured the notes were that he is working from.

    OH FUCK NO!

I was disappointed when Frank Herbert never had the time to finish it before he died but I'd rather never read the end than let Brian Herbert get his monkey hands on them

I'd rather Dune never existed than Brian Herbert getting his filthy little hands on it.

If the theists are even slightly right, there is a very special little hell set aside for Brian Herbert specifically.

I bet it's one where he has to think of an original novel...

Remember that Aaron Allston is basically co-writing it with him anyway. He provides most of the actual story, heh.

It's not just bad, it's criminal.

Not to mention that most furry star trek fanfics are better written than anything of Brian Herbert's.

Also, isn't it his partner in crime Kevin J.Anderson co-writing?

Ah yes, it was Anderson.. I was thinking Allston for some reason.

One of the extended star wars universe guys anyway. Anderson isn't too bad actually but I think he supplies the story raher than the writing.

I'm not sure you did. Salmon of Doubt was about the detective. Therefore, it is assuredly not a Hitchhikers Book. And in their he noted that in one of his notes or interviews that he realized it wasn't that great because he was writing a Hitchhikers book with the detective as a character. If he would of lived on he would of rewrote it properly. So editors did screw it up, but you are just being an idiot right now.
