I'll use this thread to mention that the Nomad Jukebox III's batteries cost $50 each and are installed as easily as your standard AA battery into a Discman.
I don't know how to be sexy. If I catch a girl looking at me and our eyes lock, I panic and open mine wider. Then I lick my lips and rub my genitals. And mouth the words "You're dead."

Wow, that's about half as much as a replacement Ipod battery.

I suppose the Ipod is still better, because it's so trendy.

Nomad Jukebox II (the one I have), has been incredibly reliable... After 8 months, the battery charge still lasts about 7 hours on low power settings (no backlight up for the display, and low contrast).

And that's with heavy use.

I take mine everywhere, and use it all the time.

How much is the average Nomad Jukebox II (with whatever gear is necessary) and where can I buy one?

If you don't get some version of the Zen I'd get the Jukebox III. Better sound quality than a Jukebox II and a much better battery system.

Actually, I'm pretty pissed at my iPod.

I got it for my birthday (September 19th). Worked fine and all; big, good quality, good control.

Then it started randomly bugging out and destroying song files.

Now, it will not erase itself, reformat or add new songs to its library.

Imagine my joy.

You can always buy a battery pack for the iPod.

September 19th as in it's less than 90 days old? Call the company, find out if it's under warranty, and be sure to get a case number for the call, so you can prove you started the process within 90 days of purchase. Also, if you get it fixed rather than replaced, keep a record, in case it breaks again.

Haven't had any problems with mine, yet. It's only about a year old though.

I'd like one. If it didn't START at $300. And thats for the 10 gig. Good thing or not I can't see paying over $100 more than other devices to have less storage, even if it is slightly easier to use.
