I have Narsil, currently resting next to my computer.

It's rather big.

Did it come with assembly required?

I've gotten this catalog in the mail... I've been debating on whether or not to buy that for some time...

I just... I know I would be tempted to hold it too often, and I would do something to mar it's beauty.

It seems to me that the angle of the handle in relation to the curve of the blade would make it rather unweildy to actually keep a full grip on. I mean, I've never even HEARD of a recurve sword before.

Anyone who actually wields swords have an opinion?

I had thought about it too... But I can't really imagine in... I'm honestly not sure how it would feel, and I probably wouldn't be able to get a good idea unless I held it.

Not that it's usage actually concerns me too much.

Ultimately it's a class of scimitar... It would take getting used to, but I'd bet it would be fairly effective. Depending on how it's balanced it could be very damned effective.

You don't wield it like a scimitar, however. That was Drakkenmaw's point.

Imagine holding it. To use it like a scimitar you would have to... swing... backwards.

Um... it's a double edged sword. Look at the 'full picture' and you can see the edge on the outward curve is just offset a bit. Double edged would make it a real bitch of a weapon properly skilled.
