When you reference pop culture (in this case, Simpsons and Star Wars) there's a limit to how far you can take it.
You can make an "I broke my Wookie" joke, or a lightsaber penis joke, but you just can't combine them as-is. It just isn't funny.
It's not something people hear about.
As for the joke, I got a bit of a chuckle out of it... Mainly because I keep thinking of star wars geeks really doing the lightsaber sound as they wave their wangs around. It's the absurdness of it that's amusing.
And yes, Spaceballs basically did it first. They didn't break it though, just fgot them twisted.
