Could it be?
A particularly crafty sea lion is befuddling the Army Corps of Engineers, who have come to believe the 1,000-pound mammal is either from hell -- or from Harvard.

If I were Drys and I could do that I would resurrect the old "Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake died in a car accident" gag.
I don't know how to be sexy. If I catch a girl looking at me and our eyes lock, I panic and open mine wider. Then I lick my lips and rub my genitals. And mouth the words "You're dead."

Did Drys ever get in any actual trouble for that?

No.

If I recall he said he was testing to see if terrorist networks could use the media to cause harm to americans.

Or some bullshit similiar to that.

He got threatened with legal action if he did it again.

When I first read that excuse I thought of that scene at the end of Blazing Sadles where all the townspeople look at each other and unanamously proclaim "Bullshit."

Kahuna Ryuu had this to say about Punky Brewster:
He got threatened with legal action if he did it again.

I thought the only thing he got in trouble for was the accidental porn ads from one of the mirrors.

Otherwise it fell under parody.

I was in the Virgin Islands once. I met a girl, we ate lobster, drank piña coladas. At sunset, we made love like sea otters. That was a pretty good day. Why couldn't I get that day over, and over?

No, remember, he posted that e-mail he'd gotten about he was using copyrighted material and they weren't going to pursue the matter this time, but he better not do it again. Or something like that. It was funny

I got a nastygram from the lawyers at clickability.com because the page contained their copyrighted Javascript popularity tracking code. (The very same quality tracking code that enabled me to get my story as cnn.com's #1 top story completely by accident, by the way).

I never heard shit from CNN themselves.

It was from the company that made the navigation stuff for the CNN webpages, as I recall. Not actually CNN itself, but some company that did just some parts of the site.

Honestly, I think CNN was just thankful that the person that found that trick used it for such a "safe" story. If it had been a story designed to create fear and panic, a lot of harm could have been done, and CNN's reputation would have taken a huge hit.

Edit: Drysart wins.

Yeah, think of what it could have done if it framed the president as being hand in hand with osama and that we'd been selling guns to terrorists.

I was thinking more along the lines of "Terrorists have put anthrax in New York City's water supply, other cities also at risk".

Just think of the panic that would have caused.
