Wisdom teeth pulled don't make you wiser or dumber, but they give a great lesson in pain endurance.

Wisdom teeth removal is also a practical lesson in why controlled substances are controlled.

Hah..this reminds me of something I was notified of the other day of....back when I worked at a Pharmacy (3+ years till this year in March), we used to have this doctor who would write any medication for any person, no matter what they had wrong with them. So alot of junkies went to him to get perscriptions of codiene, oxycontin, etc. Heard just in the last month or two that he finally got busted by the FDA when going against the pleas of the family of a patient to not perscribe this patient any control substances because he was abusing them, the doctor gave the patient a huge percription for a control drug. Patient overdosed and died.

This is why, if you go to a pharmacy sometimes with a controlled substance and they turn you away, they don't trust the doctor, or they don't trust the patient.

Am I the only person that didn't really think that the whole wisdom teeth thing wasn't that bad? The only things that were mildly annoying was the hole bleeding for a day afterwards and having to clean out the holes in your gums. Other then that I was peachy.

From what I understand, dry socket is something that is triggered by something during surgery... and occurs in less than 1% of people sub 21...

I had mine out a little over a week ago and I experienced very little pain. I guess I should consider myself lucky.

It was pretty good actually, except for some reason, the first pain pill didn't kick in, so I had to wait 2 hours to take the next one. After the 2nd one I started to feel better.

My sister had one, she smokes and the sucking motion fills the socket where tooth was with air, extreamly painful.

And I wasnt even phased by my wisdom teeth being ripped out. The fact that the dentist fucked my teeth us so they're no longer perfectly straight pisses me off.

My wisdom teeth are completly perpendicular to my other teeth.

But, they never have shown any sign of trying to move or breech the gum line, thus never had to have them out.

I haven't had to deal with my wisdom teeth yet. But my brother didn't have to have his taken out till he was like 17, so eh. Maybe later.

Mine never gave me any crap, but I still had them taken out. I have no idea why.

Just be careful they do not kill you with the gas. They almost got me, they accidentally turned it up to 100% when they meant to turn it off
