WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY THINKING?!

If there's ever a Dino Crisis movie, I'm going to roll over and die.

[EDIT] And couldn't they at least have found a title that doesn't sound like an Elton John song?

Once more into the breach, my friends, once more. We'll close the wall with our dead. I dunno. . .maybe I've been deployed for too long. . .but doesn't "on a quest to save Pandora's box" sound like lesbian porno?

Not that there's anything wrong with that, of course.

As a fan of the horror genre, I thought Resident Evil was pretty good. Not sure if it was meant to spoof horror films, though. I found it a good mix of an interesting story and a lush, overdone style of suspense.

You should see House of 1000 Corpses, then. It's made for fans of horror, and no one else. I doubt it will ever find its way to Germany, though.

Actually, I never ever liked the Resident Evil Games...

But I read a plot analysis and summary of the entire series, and I really liked it a lot, actually...

Resident Evil
Go to "Plot Analysis" under In-Depth FAQs.

It's a 150+ page read, but I actually found it well written, very humorous, very entertaining, and very very extensive and complete.

It explores all the theories and backgrounds, and does a good job of, after summarizing the game, explaining the events and subtleties of the games.

I posted that a loooong time ago - it's VERY interesting.

It definatly makes the games more interesting, in that you want to see HOW they interact with the plot now.

Been meaning to watch Tomb Raider, if to only see how bad it is, according to some people's views of it, but I really enjoyed the Resident Evil movie despite the bad reviews people have given it.

I think some people automatically dismiss it as a video game movie, but it possesses a decent amount of suspense, a reasonably traceable plot that you do not need to know about the games to follow, and a healthy dose of special effects, though the Matrix-ish slow-down in the zombie dog fight scene was a bit much.

I personally want to see RE:Nemesis if for nothing else than to see how they expand upon the plot and particularly the creatures. I want to see more lickers, the mutated plants and spiders of RE2, and the Nemesis/Tyrant that I think the movie is going to revolve around.

Bah, I regret giving away my copy of RI2 (PC) after reading that, need to track one down sometime, they should be cheap by now.

Life... is like a box of chocolates. A cheap, thoughtless, perfunctory gift that nobody ever asks for. Unreturnable, because all you get back is another box of chocolates. You're stuck with this undefinable whipped-mint crap that you mindlessly wolf down when there's nothing else left to eat. Sure, once in a while, there's a peanut butter cup, or an English toffee. But they're gone too fast, the taste is fleeting. So you end up with nothing but broken bits, filled with hardened jelly and teeth-crunching nuts, and if you're desperate enough to eat those, all you've got left is a... is an empty box... filled with useless, brown paper wrappers.

I didn't think it was horrible, really, I was just disappointed.

I walked into the theatre expecting either a lot of fanservice, or a lot of action, and I didn't really get much of either.

I knew plot was out of the question, I'd played the games before.

Well it's not like it's going against huge competition as far as video game movies are concerned, what is there.....Mario Brothers? Mortal Combat?

First was good...second sucked...when I looked up 3 at IMDB.com, looks like 3 is reuniting almost all of the cast from the first flick (including Christopher Lambert as Raiden, and the original guy who played Johnny Cage, who will be resurrected for this movie). They're going against the guy from the latest MK games (Quang Chi).

Much as I enjoyed the first movie (the sarcastic interplay between Johnny and Liu was great), I'm thinking they'll exploit the advances of Matrix-style special effects to somehow screw up 3 like they did 2. *shakes his head*
