Considering my lack of anything better to do at the moment, I figured I'd let you know of all the useful information that was released over the weekend on the various unofficial Planetside sites.

First, they've finally released Continent Maps for all the current areas of Auraxis. Not the best in quality, as you can tell, and detailed as a puddle of mud. But, still, useful. In any case, it's useful for the outline of the sanctuaries. Furthermore, Planetside Stratics has released a map detailing gate paths. Rather good to have, if you ask me.

Also, the same site has a submitted article describing Useful tactics for infiltrators. I honestly didn't think of the concept of using combat engineering offensively, so at the very least it has a couple nice ideas and recommendations.

For the moment, that's all there is. However, if you'd like, I can easily update the thread as more things come along. Shouldn't be that long of a wait, considering all the things several sites say they have ready for this week.

Wow. Area maps.

You mean it's hard to hit M to open the map, hit G to go to global, and double click on the continent you want to look at? Or while in global view, click on a continent to see where the gates lead?

And tactics for infiltrators are simple: Since everybody is at BR10, everybody's going to have Darklight vision. So. Hide where nobody is going to look for you (I.E. the implant room in a bio lab, since it's close to the CC).

I un-intalled PS this morning, and lo and behold.. they send me another CD key.

So now I have two keys that aren't being used, and that'll activate the downloadable client, and I don't really feel like giving them to anyone.

This is good to have... except there are full in-game maps that are more detailed and easier to use, they have zoom levels, show current SOI, weather info... you name it

The map interface is really great. It has a global view, which can be zoomed down to continental view, which can be zoomed in VERY close (Which you'll need to do). The global view shows which continents have links to which others, in case you're trying to get somewhere. You can toggle anything in the map view; flags (Is the base being hacked? Is the base out of power?), base names, resources, sphere of influence... et cetera

No need for third-party maps at all.

Woo! No third-party maps!

Well, except that the sanctuary maps are actually a tad useful.

You'll learn your way around sanctuary in less than 2 minutes

The vehicle pads are behind the spawn building.

The shuttle bay (Fastest access to certification terminals) is straight across from the spawn building. First thing you see when you walk out.

Training is in the spawn building.

Center building = useless.

For the warp gates you just hit 'm' to use the map

There is just one concern that I have with the game. How laggy is it? Do they manage to keep the pings down in the 100s and 200s?

Yes, more or less.

And Khyron basically said EXACTLY what I said, only with more hot air.

Woo woo.

I haven't noticed much lag. It seems really good, but then I'm on a fairly nice DSL line.

I didn't even look at your post until after. I saw Drakkenmaw's post, hit reply, then after I typed it out, I saw yours.
