and may only be used according to the following rules:

may only be used for threads are are intended to be in-character. It is not for roleplay-related threads, only for threads in which roleplay under the forum's FFRP rules takes place.

may only be used when the thread's subject matter is, in fact, not safe for work.

These tags only retain their special meanings when they are a thread tag, not a tag on any post within a thread.

These restrictions now have a zero-tolerance policy attached to them. If you use either of these tags inappropriately, no matter what your intent, then you will be dealt with, with extreme prejudice.

Can we get banned for breaking this rule?

You can get banned if your user number equals the amount of money in my bank account.

You can get banned if you spell color with an extra "u".

You can get banned if I'm playing Scrabble and I get a triple word score on the same letter that your username starts with.

In short, yes, you can get banned for this, and any other rule written or that I choose to make up on the spot.

With roleplaying, does it have to be with the FFRP board rules, or is that open for anything?

About the Roleplay tag, just a few questions, to clarify so I don't misuse by mistake:

1. Define "Roleplay-related" for me, please. Does it mean, "Don't go looking for players for your games played elsewhere under this tag", does it mean, "don't make a thread intended to be out of character using this tag", or does it mean something else?

2. Do your older rules about the Roleplay tag still hold over? (IE that by default we use the FFRP Forum rules, but that specific exceptions may be allowed/disallowed by the person who starts the thread, etc)

I think by "roleplay-related" he means the post goes like this

Subject: Dark Realm RP story
Body: It was a dark and gloomy night on May 5...

"Absolutely NOTHING [will stop me from buying Diablo III]. I will buy it regardless of what they do."
- Grawbad, Battle.net forums

"Don't want to sound like a fanboy, but I am with you. I'll buy it for sure, it's just a matter of for how long I will be playing it..."
- Silvast, Battle.net forums

It is only for threads in which actual roleplaying takes place. The FFRP rules are flexible to the point where as long as bonafide roleplaying still takes place, it's ok. Attempting to subvert the rules as a joke (such a roleplaying the French surrendering) carries dire consequences, however.

The Roleplay tag is NOT for out-of-character stuff, like trying to get gaming groups together.

ooc:
Can we put an OOC comment into an otherwise in-character post?
There are times when something just needs to be said, which can't be said in character, in order to keep things running smoothly. There are times when someone feels the need to add in comments or explanations about their character. Some threads, even freeforms, may need a bit of moderation here and there. Then there's the whole ordeal of letting people know what exceptions to the standard rules a thread's creator wants to allow.

A question on the NSFW tag--does it only apply to images, or can it be applied more broadly, to include subject matter and actual text?

The rule as written seems to allow the latter, but just wanted to check.
