hay guys whats going on in this title?

And another riddle thread.. this one is fun once you get the solution:

I am the scalp of myself, skinned by my foeman:
robbed of my strength, he steeped & soaked me,
dipped me in water, whipped me out again,
set me in the sun. I soon lost there
the hairs I had had.
The hard edge
of a keen-ground knife cuts me know,
fingers fold me, and a fowl's pride
drives its treasure trail across me,
bounds again over the brown rim,
sucks the wood-dye, steps again on me,
makes his black marks.
A man then hides me
between stout shield-boards stretched with hide,
fits me with gold. There glows on me
the jewelsmith's handiwork held with wires.

Let these royal enrichments and this red dye
and splendid settings spread with the glory
of the Protector of peoples - and not plague the fool.
If the sons of men will make use of me
they shall....

Now for the second :

Swings by his thigh a thing most magical!
Below the belt, beneath the folds
of his clothes it hangs, a hole in its front end,
stiff-set & stout, but swivels about.

Levelling the head of this hanging instrument,
its wielder hoists his hem above the knee:
it is his will to fill a well-known hole
that it fits fully when at full length.

He has often filled it before. Now he fills it again

number 2 is the pin of a belt buckle.

I see nothing about twisting in the second one, but the first sounds like a sword or something similar.

Well, swivelling.. About the same (for the second: it is a fairly common thing)

Come on, I like the first one better personally

1st is paper, or perhaps a letter.

2nd is a Key.

#2 is his dick, as first stated. A belt buckle is not below the waist. A zipper doesn't fill a hole. A leg doesn't have a hole in its front end.

#1 is a boot. Wood (to make paper) would not have hairs. It's scalped, cleaned, dried, folded & sewn to a sole. Nobles fit their boots with jewels (also not done to paper), or for simpler circumstances it could be anything. Wires sound like shoelaces. Then it's put in a decorated shoebox (shield walls). It then protects people's feet, but it may "plague the fool" by kicking him.

I suppose that is a more commonplace item for open discussion in "ancient" times, when such riddles would come about. But the first answer provided by Liam still fits the entirety of the description.

Hmm, if not for that bit about hairs (and a lack of being pressed flat), I could see how #1 could be the page in a book. The brown rim is the edge of an ink pot, the shield walls stretched with hide are the front & back covers with a binding between them, and as for decoration, that's left to the imagination.

The first one could be a book. It looks like a Spesific book since it mentions color.

Old books were not made with paper, they used parchment which is like sheep skin or something. They were not called books though but codex.
