I've never left the church, I've simply set aside a small mountain retreat wherein I can take members of the church and entertain them with video games! Rest assured, we'll all return once the fad is over.
But the gameplay is fun enough, it may turn into the next CS (Which lasted several months, instead of a couple weeks).

Eh, one way or another, BF1942 > CS. CAN YOU FLY A PLANE AND DIVE-BOMB A TANK AND STRAFE RUN PEOPLE IN CS? HUH? HUH?

Can't even drive an APC without rattling around like dice in a cup.
All you can do is run around shooting people and throwing a grenade occasionally. Never get to jump into a jeep, drive it into a tank, jump out at the last minute, and fire a rocket in and watch the guy inside cry as he BURNS UP
I am currently comparing consoles. I still enjoy CS, and I don't plan on buying another game for the PC for a nice long time.
BF42 doesn't emphasis on the FPS aspect that much, it's mostly about vehicular combat. The weapons feel a bit innacurate, and I don't even attempt to fire on things that are moving. Close combat is just horrible.
After playing AA and all these other FPS games though, it helped me adjust to the new CS patches. I still retain some of my CS skill from back in the day.
