More fantasy type combat than SCA. More fun IMO. 
The "lightning bolt" guy was casting a spell.
Could be another game similar to amtgard too.
I don't see why it is bad for people to participate in a LARPG type thing... Just because it doesnt appeal to ya doesnt make it bad.

i'm sorry...it's just...the thought of a balding man throwing little pebbles at me shouting "lightning bolt!" and some dork whacking me with a cane shouting "sleep" makes me burst out laughing, i can't help it.
it wouldn't be so bad if it were more organized. live action roleplay is cool. but you're supposed to be a badass fighter or a mighty wizard, not some geek whacking somebody with a wrapped up newspaper.
