yeah so after opening alot of this stuff i got to pretend to be happy about it and try not to look like i want to slit my throat.

STUFF I DIDN'T ASK FOR THAT I HATE:
-a pair of house shoes. they are sky blue. one has a yellow moon, one a yellow sun. thank you, aunt valerie and uncle doug.
-a bright red turtle neck sweater straight out of an abercrombie and fitch ad. it's actually by mudd, bought from kohl's ("in case the size wasn't right"--IT'S A FREAKING LARGE AND IT CAME FROM THE "PREPPY SKINNY GIRLS WHO NEVER EAT" SECTION. WHAT DO YOU THINK?). thank you, aunt valerie and uncle doug.
-a leopard print set of...things. there's a planner or diary or something, a bear, a purse, and i guess a make-up bag. thanks, grandma.
-a puke green shirt, courtesy of my mother. it's in such a style that i've never seen anyone else where that kind of shirt but her.
-a pair of eddie bauer jeans. i'm sorry, but i love cargo/carpenter jeans. they don't make my ass look so huge and plus they're a hell of a lot more comfortable. thank you, aunt natalie, and your girlfriend/wife ardie too.
-blue plaid pajamas. i think i might actually wear these, however, because i won't care about being seen in the light of day with them. that and i love flannel PJ's to begin with. the color just sucks. i don't remember who these came from.
-a generic version of "chicken soup for the teenage soul." i asked specifically for douglas coupland books, THIS IS WHAT I GOT. i don't remember who this came from.

STUFF I DIDN'T ASK FOR THAT I LIKE:
-bath and body body wash and relaxing bath bubbles. smells very nice. thanks mom.
-a maroon knit sweater type thing. i'm not sure how to describe it. thanks mom.
-a black long-sleeved t-shirt. never have enough of those. thanks mom.

STUFF THAT I ACTUALLY ASKED FOR:
-lit - a place in the sun. thanks, grandma.
-final fantasy: the spirits within. thanks johnny. i guess this doesn't really count though. i knew i was getting it because i told him and he said he wanted it really bad too.

i guess it still sucks though. i made a christmas list at my grandmother's request on thanksgiving, put "DOUGLAS COUPLAND BOOKS" in big letters at the top, and filled the rest of the page with cds. nothing but cds.

i think i'm going wrong somewhere. maybe i should ask for britney spears cds next year.

i love my grandparents, though, really. grandpa and grandma buckley (great grandparents) are just cool, and grandma (no great) is just funny in her own way.

my family sees christmas as a purely corporate holiday and excuse to get gifts from everyone. i seriously doubt my aunt was thinking when she picked out those house shoes and that mudd turtle neck.

Homeless/needy people have no time for shame. They're out there on a cold nite in 20 degree temps (depending where they are) freezing their asses off. Hell, what you just gave them IS probably the best Christmas they've had in a long time.

I got the Special Edition DVD of Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and a pair of sweats from my mom - she made the top, and the bottoms are store-bought.

They're very comfy, but there's room for another arse in the bottoms... "A bit roomy", in other words.

Gotta wait until tomorrow to see what I get from my sister... provided there isn't two feet of snow of the roads - it's working on it now...

It was. I have the hellish experience of having a birthday in December, so for whoever actually gives a damn, they figure it's too close to Christmas and I'll get enough presents then so that excuses them from being a cheapass now.

Oh well.

-clothes.
-clothes!
-electric shaver

Now, that's most of the presents. I'll get some more tomorrow.

But they will all be clothes. All of them. I don't even bother hoping for something else because it just disappoints and depresses me when I get CLOTHES AND NOTHING BUT.

I think I'm getting a cheap-ish DVD player, and a couple anime DVDs.

I won't know for sure till I go out and buy them. That won't be till next weekend or so.

My family doesn't do the big Christmas gift thing anymore. Instead, we do minor stuff, and get together if we can. If we want something, we go out and buy it for ourselves. (Well, more or less.)

    Before actual Christmas

    XBOX
    Extra Controller
    Project Gotham Racing
    Halo
    DOA3
    THPS2X
    1.5 GB of RAM
    Processor (1400 MhZ) Upgrade
PS2 Games (BG Dark Alliance, Tsugunai)

Not sure WHAT they are calling the GameCube...They bought it for me, not sure if they consider that, the extra controller, SSBM and Pikmin a Christmas present or what

Then what I know I am getting tomorrow:

Ghost Recon From a cousin and her hubby
    Operation Flashpoint from Grandma/Grandpa
    Battle Realms from my Aunt

    And I dunno what else.

    *shrug* Im happy

My parents and grandparents dont TRY to buy me clothes, Im picky (Well, in a way. I wear very few things, and am picky in how somethin fits me.)
