The intelligence of our presidents has never been seriously scrutinized at any time in our history until now. There is a widespread perception that President G. W. Bush is not qualified for the position he holds. That increasing awareness by the people has led to a study of the intellectual ability of all presidents for the past fifty years. There have been twelve presidents in that time, from F. D. Roosevelt to G. W.
Bush.

All were rated based on scholarly achievements, writings that they alone wrote, their ability to speak effectively, and a number of psychological factors. The conclusions of the study, conducted by an independent think tank located in Scranton, Pennsylvania were surprising. This think tank
includes high caliber historians, psychiatrists, sociologists, scientists in human behavior, and psychologists.

Among their ranks are Dr. Werner Levenstein, world-renowned sociologist, and Professor Patricia A. Williams, a world-respected psychiatrist. All members of the think tank are experts at being able to detect a person's IQ from the criteria stated earlier. After four months of research,
these learned men and women have determined the IQs of each president within a range of five percentage points. The IQs listed below are the norms for each president.

147 Franklin D. Roosevelt (D)
132 Harry Truman (D)
122 Dwight D. Eisenhower (R)
174 John F. Kennedy (D)
126 Lyndon B. Johnson (D)
155 Richard M. Nixon (R)
121 Gerald Ford (R)
175 James E. Carter (D)
105 Ronald Reagan (R)
099 George HW Bush (R)
182 William J. Clinton (D)
091 George W. Bush (R)

The non-partisan researchers who evaluated the twelve presidents determined that the six Republican presidents for the past 50 years had an average IQ of 115.5, with President Nixon having the highest IQ, at
155. President G. W. Bush was rated the lowest of all the Republicans with an IQ of 91. The six Democrat presidents had IQs with an average of 156, with President Clinton having the highest IQ, at 182. President Lyndon B. Johnson was rated the lowest of all the Democrats with an IQ of 126. The
margin of error is plus or minus five percent. This study was initiated on February 13, 2001 and completed on June 17, 2001.

This study validated the widespread feeling of people about the sitting president. President Bush was rated low because of his inability to command the English language, his lack of any scholarly achievements,
and an absence of anything authored by him that would reflect an intellectual effort.

The first, last and only thing I'll say about this thread...

There is no way this can be right. The simple fact that most of these people rate genius+ is total bullshit. I'm not saying they weren't intelligent, but there is no way we could have elected that many genuis+ people over the past 50-something years.

Of course considering that, statistically speaking, the smarter a person is, the more amused they are by dumb things (Einstein was supposadly amused with anything that spun) I could see Clinton being at a 182 considering that he was amused by that cheap slut Monica.....

God, it pisses me the fuck of how everybody is pissed about how bill got some action. Not every other goddamn president is a pillar of FUCKING PURITY. I can swear that almost every damn president has had extramarital affairs. Even FD FUCKING R. JFK was just a loyal little boy, wasn't he? The difference between Bill and every other goddamn president is that HE GOT CAUGHT. And you know what, it really doesn't fucking matter. I don't care if he lies about banging monica, I CARE if he lies about accidentaly murdering 20,000 people with a bad order, goddamnit.

Darrok,

Grow a vocabulary.

Have a point. Since when is "But everyone else is doing it?" a good excuse for anything?

You may be surprised to learn that reasonable, intelligent people can disagree on a number of important issues. When you grow up, perhaps you can be one of them.

Aherm. It is completely reasonable to disagree, i know. But it is not really not a very important thing, who the president has sex with, is it? The fact of the matter is that having an extramarital affair is NOT important. It's nonsense, in which actual important things should have been discussed and covered.. The only reason it becomes important is how we go over it again, and again. I agree, it wasn't a very smart thing to lie to the nation.

Anyways, that's just my opinion.
I may be wrong.

Now we can have a conversation.

I think we're agreed on the lying = bad thing.

As for adultery being no big deal, I still have to disagree, especially when speaking of those in whom we invest great power and place great trust. The mere act itself may be inconsequential, but we must look beyond that to what it says about the person's character. The President is not merely placed in office to administer the nation's affairs; he swears an oath to uphold the Constitution, among other things. Given his demonstrated inability to keep other sacred oaths, one is not out of line to wonder what other oaths are likely to be broken, and powers abused. It is no light thing to be President of the United States--and it should be a solemn duty rather than simply a bigger opportunity to demonstrate one's megalomania.

You may think adultery is no big deal. I happen to think oathbreaking is very, very serious indeed.

And that's not even addressing the absolute personal cowardice that tempts someone to cover up something like that, and to run a smear campaign to discredit everyone involved.

There are usually several ways of looking at things.

It's no big deal. The guy's a President. It's a really stressful job. People need to relax when they have stressful jobs. Some drink. Some don't do anything and suck at their jobs. Others have extramarital affairs.

Does that mean they can't do their job? Not a chance in hell.

It means they had sex with someone. That's the extent of it. Compared to the job, managing a country and the millions of people in it, getting a blowjob isn't really that important. It helps, it relaxes, but it's not that big a deal.

Shhh. Everyone will hear us. Everyone will know.

i agree with bloodsage (not that i consider myself fully in the military heck i am not even reserves) but also most every single president had extra marital affairs of corse everyone knows about it. in fact i think all who did get caught atleast confessed to it except one and that was Bill "betray your country to thy enimy(sp?) and sleep with any girl in a skirt" Clinton. besides there are other ways to relax other then sleeping around like a slut or tramp or hore or what ever slang you want to use. in fact when i get married i will stay pure to my wife as i am already trying to stay pure to her (even though i dont realy know who it will be) i say that because i am 20 years old and still a vergin and will be untill i am married not before the cerimony will i engage in sex, now maybe kissing is another matter but within limits. oh and i am realy sure that those people were realy no biased to one partizinship or another. and if they realy wanted to find out the presidents and ex presidents I Q that are still living they would have given them an I Q test. oh and some one said up there that clinton isnt that smart for lieing about haveing sex especialy with some like monica lewinsky, that has nothing to do with I Q it has more to do with E Q or Emotional Quotient ok not that that is setteled if you all read the boards enough that i read and post on you will all agree and not beable to flame me except for you all out there who accidentaly missread my posts and i forgive you for that. so try and flame me if you can but watch out if you play with fire you might get burnt.

That's the problem. They're going to claim that Billy-boy was gods gift to this country and HE WAS DUMB ENOUGH to get caught? You're damned right that JFK has his affairs. And now that Jackie O is dead we'll probally never find out about most of them. The only president in the past 50 years that you would have a hard time convincing me they did have an affair was Regan and that's simply because he's an old forgetful bastage. I doubt he ever got laid in his 8 years.

Clinton was an asskissing dumbfuck. You suck up to the right people and you can do anything. Look at M$. They made TONS of fucking cash by dealing with the IDIOTS. Make the idiots think you have what they want and they will let you do anything you want to. Same thing. Clinton pissed off the SS and the SS didn't do the same job that they did for the previous presidents. Another thing to consider is this is the FIRST time the American population is hearing about this crap. Do you think that most americans are aware that every president since the beginning has had a problem with either booze or women and more times than not, BOTH? No. They think these were honest, upstanding men who did what they had to do to make this country what it is today. BAH.

Because the media has too much fucking rights to bring something thats should be between him and his wife and the 3rd parties OUT in the public, which is just wrong. You don't see the average Joes who get caught by their wives make the 6, 10, and 8 o'clock news for 12 months straight.

Bullshit. Some lying is expected from a politician.... Lies on this caliber shouldn't be expected. And yes, given this man's position, I think Americans would have a right to know that the person 'they chose' (bullshit in itself IMHO) is not the person they thought. And if he WAS the man they thought, then I need to get deported because I have no desire to be judged by THAT kind of standard.

I have a problem with someone that cheats on his wife and lies about it, yet got into office on a Family Values platform.

Also the fact that he had to lie at all. I would have had much more respect for him if he'd just owned up to it. The fact he had to lie makes me wonder what else he is willing to lie about, and has lied about. It casts doubt on his character, and that's the last thing you want casted doubt on in a leader.

I know there was no chance in hell he was going to win, but I think he would have made a better president than Bush.
Hopefully we'll see Nader, or the Green party at least, in the next election. And hopefully they'll have more of a chance.

On the topic of Clinton, I think it's unfair to say since he lied about an embarrasing and personnal matter that he would lie to us about a matter pertaining to the country. Since he's not in office anymore I'd say the arguement is mute anyway.

BTW even though I strongly dislike George W., I don't really think it's fair to judge his (anyones) IQ with the evidence they used.

He lied about a personal matter, that really, in relation to things about the country, means jack shit, *under oath*. Obviously being truthful means nothing to him, if he'd take such a small matter (small compared to the big picture of the country) and lie about it when he'd been sworn to tell the truth.

*That* is what bothered me the most. I don't agree with adultery, but I'm not going to judge a person's leadership abilities on their personal life, if they're honest about it. It's when they start covering it up and lying that I start to wonder what else they're being less than truthful about.

To be honest Lyinar, I'd have to agree that him lying under oath does take away a portion of his credibility. I think I just really pity him for having any chance of being remembered as a good president overshadowed by that "incident", all because of the medias obsession with scandal.

To be honest I doubt the average American will remember him for anything besides the Monica incident. That's unfortunate because he did do good things for this country.
