The new IRC channel was made because SorceryNet was netsplitting like crazy and was lagging like crazy (and still is, apparently).

Also, the new channel is being used as the base to build the 3D Avatar Chat I've been talking about for months.

Drys set up the channel on his new server.

The SorceryNet one is now officially the WoFR room, so Kennatsu says, even though it's got the same EC name.

Hmm.. But there's hardly anyone in the official EC room, now.

What happened to all the people I liked to talk with? It's not particularly r0x0r having to have two mIRCs open constantly and having to switch between them a lot.

I've decided to only visit the official one, so that my tremendous magnetism might attract people to it, and the older chat will shrivel and die.

Thing is I don't IRC all that often though. Well I do, but not nearly so often as I post...

I'm in the right channel, and there are plenty of people; just not the same people in the WOFR channel.

And Maradon, it won't shrivel and die; it is the WOFR channel, so some WOFR people are gonna stick there. But what I don't understand is why some people ONLY show up some places.

. . . it's like there's a conflict or something :P

VampCastle is on Sorcery. Gotta stay where my RP channel is.

And some people haven't been able to connect to the new server. Others just don't wish to change.

But he's only in the WOFR EC chat, not the official one. Which brings TEARS to my eyes!

The connection problems with the new server should have all been taken care of. The DNS was slow to update.

If irc.evercrest.com doesn't work, you can use beta.evercrest.com instead.

Kechara splits sometimes, Kae. I hardly ever see hideout split, though.

And Kild, maybe Parce is like the last I mentioned. He just doesn't want to change. So he goes to the one he's used to.

UNO: I have never had any problems with netsplits on SorceryNet.

DOS: I have never had any connection problems with irc.evercrest.com.

People are in one or the other because they don't feel like loading two clients, Kild. Or the people they normally communicate with have gone to one or the other, so they just go to that one. All my friends come to Sorcery, my kids and Poppy and Mightion and Deth and such, so I'm on Sorcery.

I'm not sure why people still visit the old channel; I do go to the new channel, though and I do support it =)

You gotta remember the purpose of the old channel was so the original (which was on Ihatelinux) could have a backup room...

I don't have any problems with Sorcery, and like Lyinar, that's where VampCastle is.

I've never had a problem with Lag or Netsplits (I've never to this day been hit by a Netsplit).

I have my personal reasons for staying where I am, but I won't post them for the sake of tranquility...

I was hit by a netsplit once...it was weird
I was in the Virgin Islands once. I met a girl, we ate lobster, drank piña coladas. At sunset, we made love like sea otters. That was a pretty good day. Why couldn't I get that day over, and over?
