Cats are predators, thier eyes are both together on the front of thier head.
The critter in the picture clearly has an eye on either side of it's head, meaning it's an herbivore.

Actually seemed to me more like something in between a bunny and a kitten, though obviously that's not a viable option. I've seen stuffed animals in stores that look like it, but don't recall what it was. Bunnies generally have more elongated ears, but cats do normally have both eyes visible at once (unless the fur on the bridge of the nose hides the back one).
I asked Niklas what it was, and he wasn't sure, so I decided to put it to a vote. I had a book on cats, so I picked one with a similar appearance and scanned it (the odd coloration being due to my $10 scanner). So far, looks like bunny is winning. But I won't change the thread title

What Maradon Said applies dosn't apply to fish, seeing fish have an extra sensory organ we don't have... Lateral Lines
The lines( Sharks actully have the same organs montaed in there nose too, A hammerhead shark takes it to the extreme) sense the natrul electric.Magnetic current animals generate, Wich is amazing consdiering How Weeak a feild/current it is...again amazeing what you rember when you don't really need to :P
