Well I spent all morning, pulling off the door panels and scrapping off all the stickers on the car. Since the year changed on me I had to redo all my interior patterns which has been a pain, but oh well. As I said here are the pictures of the car as is. Keep in mind it wont look anything like this when Im done, hopefully. For one it will be black, and although you can't see it the car has some body damage that needs to be repaired.

Enjoy,

In the works, I'm am currently trying to order my Turbo Corvette Cowl Induction hood. And my body skirts from the local detail shop. I'm debating between wings or spolier for the rear. Any opinions?

I'd go for the spoiler....

And a question from a friend of mine.... Put the Kat on the back window, or across the hood? Impossible if you get a cut-out hood for intake, but an interesting question... full color print on the hood where you obviously have more room, or the stencil form on the back window?

The hood will be cowl inducted for my intake. So can't really do a full color overlay. I thought about doing something like that though, but In some ways it would be a bit too much. Detracting from the car itself.

Oh and on the hood I am getting.

Here

I have the induction kit already which I will have molded onto the hood and taking advantge of its underhood clearance..

Oh and something else. My friend here in town, runs a security for cars shop, and can do just about any modifications on sound that is possible. He has a custom setup for a speaking alarm, that actually roars.

Scared the crap out of the girls first time I set it off in the shop.

Nice, will be a sweet ride when she's done. I'd go for the spoiler as well, it's less drag and is slightly more aerodynamically effective than the wing.

Now I'm going to have to stop work on my Sportster and get the Turbo Pinto built so we can race.

What is it with ppl and spoilers?

Personaly they are the uglyist thing to put on most cars, specially thos 2 1/2 foot ones i see on all those crappy imports, and don't give me crap about needing down force 'cuase most cars will never actully go fast enough to warrent it.

Any hoo... Put a big ass blower on it if the engine isn't that old smoke those stangs out at the lights

Well they look cool to some people. I do agree about the imports, excessive rear downforce is BAD in a front wheel drive car. The wings are best left to racecars, it takes a lot of excess power to justfy the drag load running a wing causes.

Blowers are fun, but they are high maintainence and they really kill fuel mileage. Something to concider in a car with a 11 gallon gas tank. Especially in a big state like Texas.

Daaaaaaamn that's going to be a hot machine, Fae. I like the hood you're going with too. And I'd go for a spoiler. Always liked those. Unless you're going with something that really doesn't need it (the "Dukes of Hazzard" Dodge Charger, for instance), I think a spoiler adds something. Especially for a black car. Sleek, dark, looks like a stealth plane

Well the wings were a concideration because the local Racetrack sponsors, the test your car meets. So I was looking for the extra downforce, but concidering that wont be an all the time thing it's no big deal. And as far as wings and spoilers being cool, wel I'm not really big on them. But it helps with my theme, and there are a lot of times they really accent what your pulling off in body design overall.

As far as raceability, well I have my rebuilt 350 or the option to get my stepdads 454 put in. Although the 454 would be SWEET, I couldn't really justify it. So opted down. As it is gas is a 1.59 here for the lowend <shrug>. I'm already adding a few extras such as a turbo charger the cowl hood to increase my gas efficentcy. We installed the flowmasters today. Have to wait till I save up the money to get the hood before I go with any body work and installations, because everything will need to match up and I don't want to multipass to get it right and end up spending more money. This will be a prodject car so it will probably take a couple years to get just right. Right now Im concentrating on the engine work and my interior work since it's cheap and I have the stuff on hand.

And Sar, your just a great source of info as usual. I'm taking notes.

Well update, we went to a country auto acution today. And I got to come home with a virtually brand new set of aluminum Rally Wheels WITH a set of factory Camaro hubs, for 150$ TOTAL. And I mean TOTAL. They had some amazing stuff for CHEAP. Supposedly it was an auction hosted by a man who has more money than he knows what to do with so at some point he bought an entire auto parts industry and is just selling stuff from over the years, most of which has never even seen the light of day. They sold an entire Ford 351 for 45$! Talk about your lucky breaks. Everything seems to be working out almost perfectly as far as the car is concerned.
