The number of replies (or lack thereof) should tell you how popular that service is.

I don't know, AOL may be horrible, but at least they don't have most of their members through a 3 year sign-your-soul-away contract like CS and MSN do...

Yup - except this genuine free plastic piece of poop is cleverly disguised as an ultra low end EMachine computer. These things are so well built I've seen a number of them start on fire...

Sorry I couldn't help you on this - I use Compuserve, but was apparently busy reading Bob and George when this was first posted. Oh well.

The "soul-selling" thing is true - CS gets most of its customers through a rebate system where they give you somewhere around a $200 rebate on your new computer purchase in return for 3 years worth of business. Still, I have to say that it offers a pretty good service. It has all the general features of AOL, but they haven't totally crapped it up yet. Besides, it's around $7 cheaper now.

For what I use it for (websurfing, message board posting, and the like), it works better than AOL did. It's not a gamer's ISP, but it's good for us conversationalists.

Well, thanks to Nevermore's help, I was able to get into my account and retrieve the music files I had e-mailed myself!
