What does this mean to us vacationing Americans?
No biggie really. Visas are only denied if there's a risk you'll breach it.

What city? Might be able to fly by in a couple weeks when I have open plans.
At the very least I'll be at Spiel in Essen late October.
edit: On that note, Mort - I'll be in London from the 30th to the 5th. diadem fucked around with this message on 03-11-2017 at 10:44 AM.

It'll be a while before it's implemented, if at all, and it'll probably end up being an electronic system rather than one where you have to go to an embassy and do paperwork, so it should be pretty low threat.
Would it be over a period of time or per trip? Right now it's easy to fly from the states to the EU for under $350 a round trip if you have access to the right data. Adding fee and process for every weekend trip may make this no longer viable diadem fucked around with this message on 03-11-2017 at 10:43 AM.

Visas are usually valid for a period of time, with a limit how long you can stay, but it can vary, so you'll have to check.
I really don't think the EU is going to do anything very quickly, if at all.

I'm in the North East. A good five hours drive from London.
Pity it isn't the end of May as I'll be down there for MCM Expo.
