You know, even if it only sorta work, this is going to be cool. At the very least, it'll make practice less boring. And if it lives up to its potential....
Lots of good games this summer. Probably because my TV is borked and I need to scrape up mega$$$ to replace it. Thought it was just the bulb, but after $350 for a new one, we find out it's the hardware. fuxxors.

If you fix your TV and decide to become an early adopter please post some feedback shortly after you get the game - my decision whether or not to purchase one for myself will be heavily based on that. Ghost of Forums Past fucked around with this message on 10-01-2011 at 06:38 PM.

I hope this ships- there were so many other potential "real guitar" guitar hero ripofss that turned out to be vaporware that it isn't even funny. If you fix your TV and decide to become an early adopter please post some feedback shortly after you get the game - my decision whether or not to purchase one for myself will be heavily based on that.
I hear this ships 18 October, and I've watched the gameplay vids, so I hope it's not an elaborate hoax. I won't get to it before the end of the month, though, since it hits stores the day I report to some "kick in the doors and kill the bad guys training" up in NJ.
OBTW, Karnaj, how far from McGuire AFB do you live?

With the exception of Joystiq the reviews seem to be rather positive. All the youtube reviews I've seen were glowing. Unless anyone can give me a compelling reason not to buy this I'll probably do so within a week or to. Ghost of Forums Past fucked around with this message on 10-20-2011 at 07:28 AM.

Ditto, though I'm sure my fiancee would be interested.
edit: I cracked 'er open and gave it a go. Fucking awesome.

Overall, though, pretty damned slick.

It is pretty awesome, but no matter how I configure, I can't get rid of a slight delay between picking a string and hearing the sound. And it keeps throwing things at me I haven't seen yet, which makes it a bitch to improve, 'cause I trip all over my fingers while I'm trying to figure out what it's asking me to do.Overall, though, pretty damned slick.
Do you have a first generation X-Box?
Also, 2 things, one general and one specific, bug me about this game:
1. It makes me press the damned Start button on the splash screen. Bugs the hell out of me that it won't accept A like most other games.
2. While I really like the adaptive learning, I find it a bit frustrating that I never get to practice the same song the same way twice. Just as I think I'm figuring something out and go back to practice a bit, it decides I'm doing better and throws something harder at me. I hope there's a way to practice the same version of a song...?
It's also a fuckload harder than my real guitar lessons were, since I'm not sitting down and can't ever look at my fingers (and I'm still struggling with the string color codes a little). I didn't realize how much easier it is to play sitting down and looking at the fret board.
