While the server has a number of anti-griefing tools installed, actually owning your land is the best protection you can have against a stranger messing with your stuff. If you own land you can set who can and can not build there. You can set flags to determine if mobs can spawn and the like.
You can go here to find out how to buy land.
Please contact me if you either can not afford your land or need lease that does not expire.

I also recommended you pick up a plot in the Alpha Site. I'm going to push that the Alpha Site become a commerce planet. Ghost of Forums Past fucked around with this message on 05-21-2011 at 06:18 PM.
My after-school class has been going crazy over Minecraft since I introduced it to them a few weeks ago. I'm not about to let them go online with other people of course, but they have been asking me about networking our two computers together to play.
How hard is it to set up a server between two mediocre computers on Minecraft? Either online or offline.

Thanks.
I honestly couldn't tell you - that's the one thing I didn't do. Mara set up the initial server and I pay someone to host it.
What I can tell you is that it's very easy to modify and bukkit mods are sinch even for non-java coders like me. Almost everything has a video tutorial and the support community has a pretty quick response time. Ghost of Forums Past fucked around with this message on 05-24-2011 at 08:06 PM.
Note that there are backups in case big brother misses something and it's not found 'till down the line. Ghost of Forums Past fucked around with this message on 05-24-2011 at 09:36 PM.

Damn. You created some amazing stuff. I was wondering why you stopped cold turkey. I protected a good chunk of your area for you in case you ever want to come back.

Gah =( Is it the camera bobbing that gets you? You can switch that off in the options.
Sigpic shamelessly stolen from Kate Beaton.
I was taking ginger pills in order to play, but I'd still feel a bit off afterwards

If you are referring to dipple - that's partially true. He's also the most "powerful" character on the server in terms of levels, abilities, and money. Dipple's wealth accounts for over 50% of the server's total in-game currency.

So how exactly am I supposed to keep Minecraft 1.5 to connect to the server, when the game autoupdates?
There wasn't a supported way of doing so, unfortunately. The server's up to 1.6.6 now - though the upgrade screwed up the stargates somewhat. Ghost of Forums Past fucked around with this message on 06-03-2011 at 11:53 PM.
