That's the American Dream: to make your life into something you can sell. - Chuck Palahniuk, Haunted

Normal Person:
Knows they don't know a lot, but also knows not knowing everything applies to "knows what they don't know" as well.

Everything is a simple as it can be, but no simpler.

Sometimes you get the bear, sometimes the bear gets you.

First impression is based on archetypes but opinion is malleable based on performance and behavior.

If you ever have said "then again, I'm a realist," chances are you just said something that made everyone in the room want to punch you in the penis.

Let's have some idealist music.

I feel like those lyrics would rhyme if they were sung in another language. Like Spanish, or Klingon.

Carl Sagan, Einstein, Leon Lederman, Arthur C. Clarke, Stephen Hawking...

I can't really think of a single very smart person off the top of my head who could be described as "bleakly morose." Other than comedians, who make a job of being bleakly morose. Generally speaking, geniuses seem to be a fairly optimistic bunch really.

I've always considered cynicism a failure of intellect, and misanthropy just another form of bigotry.

I think the aforementioned very smart people would agree to the other 4 Realist columns. But seriously, Maradon, Parce totally hijacked this thread.

Oh, fuck! I just realized: the lyrics are like something Wayne Brady would make up on Whose Line is it Anyway. You know, like they sorta rhyme sometimes, but at others they border on nonsensical. Like half the words are just filler, so that he can put something more cohesive together a little later. Of course, that "a little later" never comes in this song.

Also, on a hunch, I'm running the lyrics through a English to Klingon translator and seeing if it starts rhyming then.

I think I am too old for what kids call music today.

That song has inspired me to pronounce Friday, Fry-ee-day. True story.

The remaining 4, eh? For the record the “Everything should be made as simple as possible, but no simpler” quote was ripped from Einstein.
