With LOST and Legend of the Seeker out of the way I'm stuck with Stargate Universe (begrudgingly) and Doctor Who (which rocks now). Ghost of Forums Past fucked around with this message on 05-25-2010 at 09:15 PM.
Just started watching Criminal Minds after a friend at work suggested it.

Yes, sorry, Thank you.
The Hungry Earth is glacially slow, too. Just as it starts to get good, credits roll and you're like FFFFFFFUUUUUUU.

That's about all I can think of other than random anime that I'm still collecting.
Never got into LOST, it seemed to just string people on without having any actual story. Bit like BSG.
Waiting for season 3 of "Sons of Anarchy". Season 2 finale just left all kinds of questions for us. Can't wait to see what the answers are.
Latest that I've started watching is "Treme" on HBO. I kinda fell into this one by accident. I was watching "The Pacific" and got busy a couple of times and forgot to change the channel, and well, it's grown on me.

Was Legend of the Seeker any good? Everyone I ask pretty much says that it had a girl with nice tits and that's about it.
Well when your source material is shit you're pretty likely to make shit yourselves.

Apparently it also has bondage. Can't possibly go wrong with that.

I thought most of the book line was a thinly veiled S&M story anyways?

No. I saw a few episodes, and it really has not much at all to do with the books. I thought the first book was actually rather a good story...but they quickly devolved.
The show was poorly acted and had just enough from the books to recognize, but not enough to make any kind of coherent story.

Thinly?
The first (maybe second) book veers madly off-course at around the halfway point to get the main character kidnapped by the Big Bad Evil Guy's harem of dominatrices, who he eventually befriends and becomes leader of after killing the Big Bad Evil Guy, who is oh so coincidentally his father. But he doesn't fuck any of them at any time because he's already in love with the female protagonist and it turns out all of the evil, red-leather wearing (IT HIDES BLOOD!! wait dried blood turns brown FUCK) dominatrices are secretly lesbians.
I'm not sorry if I spoiled anything for anyone because this is the worst book series ever written and I was young and stupid when I read seven of the.. nine? eleven? novels in the series.

Who the fuck is that supposed to be? Female protagonist was a blonde, all of the Mord-Sith were blonde, black or red. It's not his retarded sister from the sixth book is it?

I got like 100 pages into the first book before I couldn't take it anymore Steven Steve fucked around with this message on 05-27-2010 at 01:38 PM.

Wait... that tv series was based off of a book series? I just thought it was a craptacularly late attempt to sponge some of the fame off of the LotR craze....
I don't know if this is just being facetious but yes, it's based off of Sword of Truth haha, I didn't even recognize it because it was so ridiculous

Nah he definitely fucks the one, it's described in detail, it's emotional and shit.
Also he's described as bleeding like fifty gallons of blood per day.
Those books were indeed horrible. Some of the ideas were pretty clever but the writing was just awful. I couldn't get past the second.

Wasn't intended as sarcasm. Not familiar with the book series so I had no basis of reference. I just figured it was a "late to the party" fantasy series.

IMO, HORRIBLY bad. If you've read the books at least. Several people I met at the signing Jim did in April found the book series because of the TV show and said the show wasn't bad until they read the books...

Yeah, going into that show expecting the books on TV is... bad mojo
Main issues were they put the WORST episodes first (Aired out of order... but the first episode in particular was really, really blah) and they took a really confusing 180 with a lot of the book's ideas
Namely in the show he was actively trying to disguise the fact he could do magic, covering up his magic use with 'ordinary' explanations... while still having WIZARD on his front door. It didn't make any sense whatsoever and a lot of it just didn't mesh with their weird contradictions.
We found it endlessly hilarious that he used a hockey stick as his magic staff as a means to 'blend in' more I guess but it actually looked MORE out of place than an actual staff
Except the pilot, which was vastly different than the rest of the show, but somehow they used nothing from it... then aired it dead smack in the middle of the season, which is impressively confusing
I do still have a sort spot for the show though, some of the episodes had the right idea going
Did the people writing the show only get the Cliff Notes on the books?
Can't say I've really kept up with many series lately. Used to watch Heroes and Lost till a couple years ago when things started to get silly. I keep missing House and Castle which I do want to watch.
Now I'm waiting for the beginning of next summer when the first season of the Song of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones) HBO series is coming out. That is one I will strive not to miss.
We're looking forward to the next seasons of Eureka and Warehouse 13. We also discovered Leverage on Netflix and the third season of that just started. That is a great show.

There was nothing thinly veiled in that series.
I've also been watching 30 Rock on Netflix and started watching True Blood.
It kinda sucks because almost everything I watch is in its down season right now, and I've been lucky enough to borrow DVDs from people for what isn't on Netflix... so I'm just going through and watching old stuff. I've been watching Arrested Development and Strangers With Candy, for example.
Episodes 1-6: Haha, cool. Haha! Wait. Wait! WAIT! WHAT?! WHAT THE FUCK?! SHIT! HOLY SHIT! FUCK! SHIT! NO! NOOOOOOO!
Episodes 7-10: ...huh?
Episodes 11-12: Wait, what? No, what? Why? What? Oh...okay. Uh...oh. I guess that works. Oh. OH. ...oh
SPOILER.
