I've never played either except like three minutes at Best Buy once. Getting someone a Wii for their birthday with either/or. Which is better.

Thank you for your typically useless response. I was afraid you'd actually have something to say for once.

I like Rock Band's setlist just a bit more, and it has a larger DLC library of songs I like. Also, online play is better. In short, get RB2.

Except that the Wii DLC store only just recently opened, has a mere fraction of the available songs, and (not entirely sure about this) doesn't update weekly like the other platforms. Having said that, I dont think GH has anything going for the Wii just yet..

Personal preference says go with RB2, some 80 songs on disc + what DLC is available is the better deal. (redesigned and allegedly sturdier instruments are a boon too. I've still got my old RB1 set, year old and running solid still)

The DLC for the Wii is lagging behind, because DLC wasn't offered for RB1, but it's catching up slowly. Now they're in the habit of releasing the 360/PS3 DLC a week late, along with 3-6 songs from the existing catalogue. I'd guess that they're up to about 130 songs of the 400 song DLC catalogue.

Rock Band 2, I'd say. GH:WT DLC tracks are limited to around 200 blocks max, which comes to 6 minutes a song. That's why the only three songs from Death Magnetic are the shortest ones.

RB2 DLC doesn't have that problem - for example, RB2 offers the complete Moving Pictures album, including "The Camera Eye", which is eleven minutes long.

From a cosmetic standpoint, RB2 looks better, and the characters are far more customizable, with far more clothing options than custom characters in GH:WT.
