The circle at an enemy's feet tells you if it's in range. If the circle is blue, it's in range but you aren't "facing" it. If it's green, it's in range and if you fire you will target it. No circle, it's out of both slide and gun range.
The only major flaw that I can see is that you can target already dead enemies for some inexplicable reason. Also, aiming two pistols is a little more tricky than it needs to be.
It's an unusual mix but the fundamentals are not entirely alien.
The game is balls awesome in co-op though, and I am greatly looking forward to the addition of four player co-op.
