I heard good things.

I've also heard good things about IE8.

The design isn't nearly as messed up as it looked in the screen shots, and it seems pretty snappy to me.

Trying it out, it's pretty clean and solid. My only complaint is that even though the mouse wheel works, there appears to be no middle mouse button support so you can't just click and drag through a page.

Also, no Refresh option in the right click drop down menu.

For those who have been using google bookmarks, how does one access them through the Chrome browser? Since they're not in IE or Firefox I can't import them in and there's no option to import bookmarks in from google bookmarks.

Haha, shit. I just noticed I can resize this text window, interesting

I'm pretty impressed by that comic. Some of it I didn't quite understand but they definitely made an effort to put things in layman's terms.

I do admit that it's a sweet browser, but...

No adblock, no bugmenot, not really many customization options. It's more for low-level users.

I pretty much use vanilla Firefox aside from AdBlock. I'm used to the occasional browsing with Safari on my laptop without it, so I don't really consider it a huge loss.

I like the novelty of new stuff, too.

I can't decide if I want to use this now or wait for Firefox to adapt its code.

I don't know if Firefox is going to be able to 'adapt' it's code without a major point revision. I believe that Chrome is made with just as much plug-in ability as Firefox, the user base just has to prove that it is worth while. As it is though, Chrome is stupid fast so it's what I'm going to use. Also yay for minimalist UIs, it's almost like browsing full screen all the time.

Resizing text areas has been in WebKit for ages.

We'll see how long the buzz lasts.

It's at the very least on par with Firefox for someone like me that doesn't give a shit about extensions. There's no loss of functionality in a switch for me.

It feels faster than Firefox. The UI is pretty nice. Buzz and OH MY GOD IT'S GOOGLE aside, I'm sold on this unless a showstopper bug rears its ugly head.

I used Firefox from Phoenix 0.3, so I guess this is as good a time to switch as any.

Every account I've read so far states that there is zero extension or plugin functionality in chrome. If they're going to add it, it'll have to be in a whole new build.

Also, anything that you can't control in the options menu... you can't control. I'd like to change the way auto complete works, but oh well, can't change that in chrome unless you feel like downloading the source and making your own build.

With an about:config equivalent and extensions, this might be comparable to firefox.

I tinkered with this a little bit and I think I'm going to wait until it's a bit more fully-featured before I use it. Opens pages nice and fast, I like the concept behind how it'll handle stuff like java and malware, but it's too barebones right now to really satisfy me. The lack of the usual stop and home buttons, among other other little things, is kind of annoying.

Also it underlines words that are spelled wrong, but offers no way to fix them when you rightclick on the words and there's not button to hit in the UI to do a spellcheck.

So I'll be sticking with IE7 for a while :/

Yes it does, they just aren't bolded. Also, sometimes it isn't the best at it. For instance it can't suggest aren't when you type arn't but whatever.

I've pretty much used vanilla settings (and very few extra features) in browsers for as long as I can remember. Fast and secure out of the box is just about all I ask for, everything else is icing. I guess that's why Opera always seem like overkill to me
