As the title says it. The most fun I ever had PvPing was in DAoC. I know the games popularity has declined greatly. I am just getting tired of WoW's PvP system and looking for a change. Tried CoH again for a bit, but got bored with it quick.

Any opinions on whether I should go back or not? Anyone know if the game has changed much? I left after ToA and Shrouded Isles were out.

Why not wait for WAR, since most of the PvP elements from DAoC are implemented in WAR iirc fyi.

You'll play DAoC for 5 minutes and ask "WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THE CONTROLS IN THIS GAME?" and then never pick it up again

I don't think the controls were that bad, since I was an avid DAoCer, really you could map everything as easily as you can map wow.

The biggest thing I found after playing WoW and giving DAoC another go was that the motion was so mechanical, like everything is on rails. Moving forward and backward are very disproportionate speeds, strafing is a fraction of forward movement. Player movement on WoW is so much more fluid its a hard adjustment to make.

Well, that's what I meant really.

Player movement is part of how the game controls.

Being completely unable to strafe or jumping completely reducing your run speed gets annoying fast.
