Enjoy a vertical learning curve, it's even worse than EVE's.

Yeah, there some huge community patch that's endorsed by the x3 designers.

The game has an immensely steep learning curve and starting out is rough as hell, but once you get going it's amazingly fun owning stations and setting up fleets and shit. Once you get a fleet of 3-4 cap ships with several wings of escort fighters you can pull off some of the most amazing space battles I've ever seen in any game. It's just that getting there takes a fucking ton of effort. Still a great game.

Pick up xtended as well for a ton of new ships and missiles and sectors and shit.

I'll just wait until X3: Terran Conflict, as the Terran ships are so much nicer looking.

The story/scripting for the story sucks shit

Everything else is awesome

the game needs this kind of shit though
