If it is the latter, why? Is there a work-around? Why not? If it's bought and paid for, it should be available to anyone on my box. (More questions for the verbose among you)
I'm asking because the latter seems to be the case. Unless there's something I need to activate or change.
Any tips or thoughts?
It sucks and there is no good reason for it to be that way.

This.
But as long as that profile is signed in, you should be able to use the other stuff on other profiles if you're playing local multiplayer, or on Xbox Live with a guest.

They'd need to come up with a way to lock it to a single console then. And if they did that and something happened to the console, you'd be screwed.
If it was just something you bought and didn't have tied to a Gamertag, you could just toss it on a memory card and cart it over to your friend's place, pass it around online, stuff like that.
It sucks, but there isn't really a better way to keep crap like that from happening
All of the Rock Band DLC I've purchased is playable by Black's account, for instance.

Which is why it's a mixture of both.
Xbox 360 DLC is keyed to the Live account it was bought with, as well as the console it was bought on. Meaning if it gets bricked, you can just have it replaced and keep on using the DLC with your account while waiting for MS to rekey the licenses to the replacement Xbox. Other accounts on the same console can also share everything that was downloaded.
And as far as I'm aware, you can use your account on someone else's console and use your DLC as long as you're logged on. Nina fucked around with this message on 05-05-2008 at 08:18 PM.

All I know is that if someone else logs in to play Marvel Alliance and uses their own account in order to not fuck with my saved games (since you can't name them), the additional characters aren't there. It's El Crappo.
From what the other posters here are saying, if you have your account logged in on another controller the content should be available

I like it, since it eliminates the chance of having someone save over your game.

Unless you like having multiple saves.

Except for what you have tied to one profile not being available on another profile... Then yeah. So your responce kinda defeats the purpose now doesn't it.
But mostly that was in responce to Skaw on his saving over save files thing. As I rather routinely keep multiple save files in games that allow it so that I can load from different points depending on the choices that have been made, or wanting to go back to a certain point. Used to be pretty standard practice for RPGs for most people. Still is for me, and in some cases habit.
And of course tying that to Skaw's statment, it's not all that uncommon to accidentally save over your OWN save files when you are using multiple slots by accident. XD Meaning, it's not always someone else saving over the save files.

Thats an issue with a specific game then.
Overlord, Mass Effect, GTA4 have save slots in addition to being profile-based. Those are just the games I can toss out off the top of my head right now.

That's exactly why it keeps people from saving over your games.
I don't understand what you're trying to communicate half the time.

Mass Effect was fine. We didn't have to log out of our gamer profile to use different saves. Actually, Mass Effect is exactly how saving should work.

He's bitching about games that don't allow more than one save.
Which has nothing to do with profile-based saving.
Atleast he was or something. I guess I'm in the same boat as you. Skaw fucked around with this message on 05-08-2008 at 08:53 PM.

Naw, wasn't complaining about profile saves. I just didnt finish the comment. Which is why I made the second post.
I was just commenting on your "People saving over your saves" thing. Where if you like multiple saves like I do, I have a nasty habit of doing that to myself. No one else has to do it for me.
The responce to Maradon was just about the fact that saves between profiles didn't really matter because you dont carry things from one profile to the other. Again, not really related to what I initially commented on, like I said after that. Faelynn LeAndris fucked around with this message on 05-08-2008 at 10:31 PM.
