A typical destroy mission, for those who're on the fence about EVE and wondering if they want to play it.

Keeping in mind that I have 42m skillpoints and can tank these pockets in my sleep, a new persons encounters in a frigate or cruiser would be much faster and hairier, only with less bad guys and no enemy battleships/battlecruisers.

I canceled eve cause of gatecamping. Seriously; zero warning, zero chance of escape scenarios in PVP are a pretty stupid idea.

Going from playing in 0.0 to playing in empire would be like... leaving the ocean to go swim in a 40oz bottle of evian.

Pretty much stopped playing since any decent fleet PvP is now little more than a slideshow of frames, with module activation lag of 5+ minutes, even with the new high-end system I built.. Small-scale gank PvP is where it's at


.. but with the GoonSwarm directorate pretty much pushing the whole "We must destroy BoB before we can have any fun" (and then wondering why no-one's turning up anymore), I pretty much only log on to change skills these days..

Nvm, I just went to read the GF forums..

I *might* get in on this... if I can be fagged about moving my PvP ships up to Geminate. Having too much fun with Goons in CoH though...

The PA corp Merch is basically goonfleet lite - all the goonfleet privileges, but ultra carebear at the same time.

Plus you don't get all the self-congratulatory meta nonsense.

The only downside is that if you ever want to PVP you'll basically have to toady around with goons.

If you're used to the SA gimmick, then you should be fine in GoonSwarm.. but as maradon said, MERCHI is probably a better bet. You get all the same benefits, and (I believe) joining requirements are easier

In MERCHI you'll still get to pewpew people too.. They may be carebears (mostly) but they're probably one of the more dedicated corps towards fielding people on PvP ops
