The FFVII one is pretty good, with the fake sword and the ketchup bottle.

Apparently they're from the game Siberia, as is the chick in the top-right. I haven't played it myself, so I don't know that for sure.

That's a Norn, not a Grendel, Grendel's were green ogre like ones. I liked that "game" although it was more an interactive time waster. "Wolfpacking" was more fun.
Some of those I would have never gotten... Although sadly I know most of them. They went pretty far back all things concidered.

I always wanted to try this game, but I never got the chance, concidering I grew up a huge Clive Barker fan. I lived off the Hellraiser series and his various other movies, although Nightbreed is by far my favorite, and very underrated. I wish they'd hurray up and resolve the missing footage video so he can release his directors cut, or better yet get around to the sequel which he has expressed wanting to do.

Undying was a fucking travesty.
The game was awesome. It easily takes the #2 spot for scariest experience of my entire life (#1 would be System Shock 2), but better than that, the game was just so much fun. The dual-wielding system added a lot of depth to combat, the spells and weapons were all so visceral and entertaining just to use, and the scrying was a really awesome mechanic that made the game feel mysterious.
It was far from a big budget masterpiece, but so much of the game was just so resoundingly awesome.
BUT FOR SOME REASON NOBODY FUCKING BOUGHT IT SO THEY CANNED THE GODDAMN SEQUEL.
I seriously quit and went to gamefaqs assuming I was missing some key component to beating him because after 5 solid minutes of jamming skullstorms into it's face, it hadn't died.
Lo and behold I was doing it exactly right but it takes SO LONG to kill it that I had just assumed I wasn't doing it right
*grumble*
But I agree with everything Maradon said, especially about the dual wielding, that was just so damn ingenious. The scythe ruled faces =D Vorago fucked around with this message on 05-31-2007 at 06:35 PM.

You mean scariest video game experience right
RIGHT!?
System Shock 2 was scary because the hybrids just find you wherever and molest you, and there's nowhere you can hide.

No. I've read lots of scary books and scary movies, and I'm not the insecure chauvinist type that's going to claim shit wasn't scary to him when it really was, but honestly I'm nowhere near as scared by any other medium as I am by video games.

I've never played either of those, but I have to ask if you've played Vampire: the Masquerade when you say that.
That hotel in Vampire is definitely the scariest thing I've experienced in any game, book, or movie.

Yes, I have. The hotel was ok, but I didn't think it was stellar. It had a lot of jump-out-at-you and that stops affecting me after so long.
In the same vein, but longer and overall creepier, was the Shalebridge Cradle in Thief 3

So what you are saying is that badly modeled GM creatures frighten you more than say, moving out, or taking final exams?

You're talking about two completely different concepts of fear, really.
Final Exams and things like that are more anxiety than fear really.
Also, I've already moved out and it was fun as hell and not the slightest bit scary.
