The vet said that this could have been a number of things, congenital diabeties, neurological disorders, tumour, etc. and that degu's are prone to seizures (never knew that in my 12 years of taking care of degus). So, now I just have one lone degu who appears to be as healthy as anything. It's just sad since the heathy degu kept snuggling with the other one because she was sick.

It's not silly. That little rodent found a place in your heart and lived there and to not have that place full anymore really hurts.
I'm sorry you had to put your little one down.
