it's not so much a tripfag issue as the fact that people will be getting banned more frequently for being assholes, sagebombing or furrybombing threads, etc.
It varies back and forth. /b/ will just get angry and the mods will change it back eventually.
Also, there are a lot of /b/tards here, but they don't post too much or browse as much as me and Maradon do. YOTC, Jargum, RIG, Talonus, I believe Ryuu, and a bunch of others.
Some of the other forums are alright, but if you're going to 4chan for meaningful conversation (iow every board other than /b/) it's just better moderated on other forums like SA. Also, there's more people that will actually converse there than on /b/. The massive population 4chan has is pretty much all within the random board.

I see 4chan as just a massive image dump with /b/ being the dregs to keep the idiots out of other boards. If you're looking for conversation, there's better places to go. If you want some images, 4chan is great for it though. That's probably why I stick to /a/, /hr/, /w/, and /wg/.
I generally don't go read the text though.
