Okay, okay.

You just calm down, son. Everything's going to be alright. Put the gun down.
I SAID PUT IT DOWN.

And while you crazy people in the next state are trying to make up dances, we have our own already in Chicago.

The superfans are far from innacurate. IN the worst of years the seats would be nearly packed at Soldier Field. Chicago fans are hard core. Hell, the cubs haven't won a championship in near on a century and every game is sold out.

Yes and no. A lot of the Cubs fans go just to drink, but some of us are still actual fans of the team (we just hate the management that thinks they don't need to improve the team because the tickets still sell). The bears fans go to drink and support the team.

Because that 200something million dollars they spent this off season wasn't to improve the team!
And the Bears are already known for something other than the Superfans. 9 Championships, arguably the best single season team in the history of football, and Papa Bear George Halas.

I knew that would come up, but I'll reserve judgement until the season starts. They might just be inflating the payroll to sell the team.

They played a great game against the pats but there is no way they will be winning this super bowl. Da Bears have this.
Also, all of my family lives in Baltimore and I'll never be a Colts fan because of what they did.

Inflating the payroll to sell the team only works if the inflated payroll causes the team to win.
Besides, it's Alfonso Sorifuckingano.
Go Bears, damnit.

The Colts needed this shot to justify the building of their new "We don't need it, but omg we have to have it" stadium.
They long since earned that. Not to mention it's a good idea because of the revenue being able to host a future Super Bowl will bring to the city.
And yeah, Zane, my money's on the Bears as well. I just thought it was great to see our team make it this time.

Oh shush. You always bitch out any team in the last state you lived in. When we moved to NC, you hated the Patriots. When you moved to Michigan, you hated the Panthers (though I can't fault you there). When you moved to Indiana, you hated the Michigan teams Andy liked.
And the stadium is, frankly, not really about the Colts. We're lobbying hard to get either the 2011 or 2012 Super Bowl. See how that works? You lobby to host a game four or five years in the future. Your team isn't guaranteed to actually play in that game. It's all about the tourism industry. Conservative estimates suggest a Super Bowl in your city can bring a billion (with a B) dollars into the local economy.
Indianapolis is getting good at picking off tourism and convention stuff from Chicago. That's what the stadium is about.

Before you start day dreaming about past events, lets get a few things clear. I never liked football when we moved from MA to NC. So therefore I didn't even know about the Patriots. I recall randomly picking a team and betting against Dad (and he'll back that up). As for the Panthers, they didn't come along for quite a bit AFTER we moved to NC. And for disliking teams Andy liked, he has been a LONG TIME Bears supporter. I didn't change my like for them when I moved from Indy (Though if you ask Mom, she dislikes them because of Andy). I never liked the Lions, they're a huge joke. And everyone likes the Red Wings, so that's why I stuck by the Hurricanes (and have since they moved to NC).
And I think it's fanstastic that they're building their new stadium in HOPES of hosting a game in the future. But Indianapolis is suffering for it. Have you followed the stories on the stadium going up? How they tried to muscle out businesses that have long been there so they can have more parking space? How they are illegally cutting back on the required amounts of water fountains in the stadium? There are handfuls of stories like this since they broke ground and plans were released to the media.
My concern is the fact that Indianapolis seems more concerned about the stupid stadium then about, oh I don't know, education? What the hell is with CHARGING kids every year for book use? And we're not talking the couple of bucks we paid at the end of the year. They want staggering amounts (well into the hundreds) for the books. They have no all day kindergarten and heaven forbid they try and get it. And lets not forget how they're cutting back on NEEDED immunizations being given at schools for low-income families because of the budget. So I guess your solution to this is "Oh don't worry.. it will all be better in six years if we get to host a super bowl!"
And yeah, I don't like the Colts. It's not because I moved to SC and now suddenly have to like the home team (which, is the Panthers since we're practically in NC as it is). So claim whatever you want to justify your statements to me, but you are way off scale there.
