Topic: Question about Torrent programs

Right now I use Bittorrent, which is nice and all, but I was wondering if there are any torrent programs that let you download more than three torrents at a time. I haven't been able to get a straight answer about any of the other downloaders out there, so I was wondering what those of you who torrent use.

I do NOT want this thread to devolve into an argument over file sharing, piracy, etc, so don't go there.

µTorrent allows you to do that. Probably the best BitTorrent client for Windows.

Why would you want to download more than 3 Linux ISO's at a time, though? *cough*

I recommend Azureus. I don't know what µTorrent can or can't do, but I like Azureus. It is java based, it will queue up multiple torrents (You can set how many to download at a time, and set it to ignore a torrent if the speed is below a certain threshhold), but you can force start a torrent or multiple torrents if you want to download a lot at once.

Azureus is crap.

Go with Hellbender's recommendation -- utorrent is really damn nice.

Never heard of uTorrent either, but I use BitComet. Can download as many as you want, generally has good speeds, can go in and grab a single torrent for an entire series and download it three or four at a time or whatever by going in and changing which part is being downloaded first.

uTorrent is a completely standalone executable and has the smallest memory footprint of any BT client.

In short, it is best.

I previously used Azureus. Then I realized it was junk compared to uTorrent.

In an age when the OS uses 880mb of memory just sitting there and looking pretty you guys are worried about your torrent client using up 14000k instead of 2000k?

What how does my OS use 880 MB of memory when I only have 1GB and games I run manage to eat up 500-600 MB regularly?

uTorrent does everything Azureus does, and uses that less though. If you have neither currently, there is 0 reason not to save that small bit.

Any thoughts (pros, cons or otherwise) on BitTornado? Not entirely proficient in the torrent game yet, but that the one I've used so far
