He goes in tomorrow at seven in the morning and doesn't come back until Thursday.
He'll have a two month long recovery, one of which involves him being confined to a crate.
Ugh
hope all goes well.
My rotty ended up being put to sleep after his joints just stopped working

I'm sure he'll be okay in the long run, though. Won't ever want to get in the car again, mind you, but he'll be good to go.
Just gives you the chance to spoil him with attention while he's recuperating.

I hope it goes well, and he recovers smoothly...
So, now after we pick him up tomorrow, we face two months of recovery. One of those months will be him confined to a crate entirely, except to eat, cuddle and go to the potty. Then for another month, he has to live in a small room...then we ramp up his activities, slowly.
So, basically, in two and a half months, he'll be just like he was before, except now his knee will be fixed and he won't have arthritis. So, yeah, things worked out

a month in a crate will be a long month. *nods*

Karnaj had this to say about pies:
Was his knee at a 4 on the little scale that they use? Both of my dog's knees are at a 3 right now, and she walks funny most of the time.
Grade 3. He was limping everywhere. We caught in time to prevent some serious arthritis from setting in.
The good side of this is that it'll be winter for the months he's in, so he'd be spending much of his days indoors, anyway. Charles can still go running in the snow, though.
Facts About Corgis: They are jerks.
Otis' crate is right next to a door with a dog door in it that is small enough just for a cat to get through...so I guess it's a cat door. Anyway, Charlie kept sticking his head through it and razzing Otis, thus causing the crying.
I know Charles just wants to have fun with his brother again, but Otis can't play for fear of upsetting his surgery.
Oy.

When the babel fish was in place, it was apparent Karnaj said:
A stern warning from Papa doesn't shut Charlie up?
He doesn't even say anything. He just sticks his head in the door and then when I say "scram," he shows up a bit later. I just blocked up the door and it stopped.
Now Otis is making 1950s scifi movies sound effects as he sleeps including, but not limited to: musical saw martian spaceship, death ray snores, whistling alien speech.

That's probably normal, given that he just got out. If he doesn't eat soon, though, I'll be a sad panda.

Otis is doing spectacularly well, to the point htat he wants to get out and play all the time. He can't, of course, but we let him out to mill about peacefully with the dogs on occasion. If he starts fighting or roughhousing, back in he goes, same with trying to go up stairs or jumping on furniture. That's a big no-no for his knee.
He's eating and drinking with regularity again and he gets his stitches out tomorrow. It should only be another month or so before he gets to go out and show off his fancy new shirt to everyone in town.
I don't know if it'll help, but it'd probably be really funny.
*hugs for you and the puppy*
