If it follows with the last two seasons, it'll be sometime late Feburary or early March before season 3 kicks in.

Yeah. It's usually a brief hiatus during the winter and then it comes back strong...
...then you get the three-month-long break as you wait for the next installment and then erratic scheduling that would drive anyone less obsessed with the awesomeness into a coma.

At least it has better scheduling than Invader Zim did.

How many episodes are there in season 1 and 2?
20 a season.

Zuko screws shit up AGAIN.
The highlight of the second part for me is Sokka actually developing combat-wise as a counter to Ty Lee. Or perhaps it was just a one time deal, hopefully not. Skaw fucked around with this message on 12-01-2006 at 09:10 PM.
And I don't really see the point of spoilers in this thread, seeing as the finale just ended on Nick.
If you don't want to be spoiled about the end of the Book of Earth for Avatar, don't read the thread about the season's end.
So stfu nigars.

Toph bending metal holy shit
That was awesome and I never really saw the point as to why Earthbenders couldn't bend metal. It was once ore that is found in the earth. If they have waterbenders able to bend water in vines (Swamp Benders) or earthbenders who can bend sand, the freakin' earthbenders should be able to bend metal.

Skaw thought about the meaning of life:
Because it hasn't aired yet in all timezones and I'd rather not incur the wrath of Parcelan.
oh
Yeah, I forget that sometimes. :/
Aside from the lack of an appearance by the Firelord, it occured exactly as I thought it would.

Yeah, makes sense though. I don't think they've ever shown regular earthbenders bending rock/dirt/sand that they couldn't see/not knowing where it is. So Toph can "bend metal" by manipulating the fragments still intact within the smelted metal she can pick up through seeing the vibrations, putting her on a whole other level above Earthbenders in general.

I was rooting for Zuko, at first I thought it was just a trick and he would side with his uncle. :/
Ah, it couldn't have been that easy. Zuko showed a triumphant breakthrough, but I think this story will ultimately end with him on top.

So let's just dump a whole season's worth of character development down the drain. Was that the thought process for writing that finale?
4 episodes out of the 20 doesn't count as the entire seasons.

Pretty much, unless Zuko has thought this through a lot more than we all think he has.
Zuko siding with Azula for that fight was so out-of-character for him at this point in the series that it just didn't make one bit of sense unless he's planning to backstab her at some point.
Willias fucked around with this message on 12-02-2006 at 05:52 PM.
But then again, dumping all of Zuko's character development was also probably necessary for everything to work out like the series creators want it to. I think it's pretty obvious that Azula is likely going to end up being their main enemy in the end, and without Zuko backing her up, she would have gotten owned by Aang and Kitara. Even more so if he sided with Aang and Kitara.
Finally saw those episodes. Now all I have to do is watch them all in order heh. I'm getting the storyline now even though there are chunks of it missing in my viewing.

Yeah. It would be pretty cool if she could get a gig making official Avatar comics for Nick. Her work pretty much looks dead-on to the show.
