I need a new mouse. My current one is starting to get crusty and the buttons don't click as nice. However, there is a problem.

Right now I'm using a Logitech MX510. This beauty has no less than eight total buttons:

(1) Left and (2) Right primary, (3) "Up" which I've bound to home, (5) "Down" which I've bound to end, (4) scroll wheel click. I do not even know if this counts as a button properly. (6) Some sorta minimize button which I've rebound to TILDE ` (7) back and (8) forward.

Needless to say I am hopelessly addicted to all of these buttons. In fact, if anything, I would like MORE buttons to work with. I am button CRAZY.

Problem is that the VAST majority of meese out there have maybe five buttons max. Instead of more glorious buttons, modern mooses feature things like sideways scrolling scrollwheels, a feature that I find completely retarded. Some of them have these little rings that the scroll wheel is nested in that seem to act as buttons. Are they? I cannot tell.

Even enthusiast gaming mousen seem to have abandoned the glory of excessive buttoning in favor of stupid and totally useless things like ADJUSTABLE WEIGHT CARTRIDGES and ON-THE-FLY ADJUSTABLE DPI!!! Holy shit! Features that I would NEVER, EVER USE!!

So far, my prime candidate for a replacement is... the MX-518... duh. But even it still only has 8 buttons. I NEED MORE BUTTONS.

I submit this challenge to all who would dare: Find me a mouse with as many buttons as possible. Winners get a blowjob.

Restrictions are as follows:

  • Nothing stupidly expensive. No solid gold concept mice with little OLED screens on each button, etc.
  • It must be a mouse. No offhand-mini-keyboards etc. And no trackballs, what are you retarded?
  • I prefer wired but I will not snub wireless.
  • double extra bonus points of it is shaped like a cookie, with each chocolate chip being a whole different button.

    Hugs 'n kisses,

I'm guessing the MX1000 falls into the stupidly expensive category?

Edit: it's got horizontal scroll, which you might be able to bind to do other things. That'd be 10 buttons.

Certainly not. It's got one of those nested wheel button thingies though. I couldn't tell if those were actually buttons or some kind of rocker or something.

Frankly I don't see much gain in this over the MX-518.

The MX1000 is no longer the top Logitech mouse. I just recently got the Logitech MX Revolution I really like the mouse wheel, it's weighted and has the normal click to it, but after a few spins of the wheel the wheel "free wheels" and lets you get to the bottom of a page or spreadsheet pretty quickly. The thumb wheel is nice for switching windows. The center button is now a quick button to open a search engine. I really like it a lot for gaming and for work. This replaces my MX700 that went tits up a couple weeks ago.

That has two fewer buttons though. The thumb wheel is... neat, but I can't really see using it in a game for anything ever.

And I do not count wheelup and wheeldown to be discrete buttons

So far the results have been highly disappointing! I was expecting someone to come up with a kind of MUTANT MEGA MOUSE with 16+ buttons!

Looks to be the same as yours with two more on the other side.

Just say your mouse is broken and they'll send you a free one.

My mx700 was becoming retarded and they sent me an mx1000 since it was the newest model. I didn't even have to ship them the old one.

this one has 8 buttons, but it says 24 programmable pairs. Not sure if this is something you might be interested in, but check it out.

Edit: I think it's only really for office programs. oh well

Archangel has a mouse with a pair of scroll wheels. One is set to a slower scroll and one to faster; I don't get it but he says it's handy.

I got the MX518. Not disappointed.

It's shaped better than the 510, though it's hard to tell from pictures. Plus it's color scheme matches my G15 and Sony LCD monitor perfectly.

The MX1000 and Revolution were tempting, but I was having a hard time justifying spending 2x as much for a mouse that did not even have more buttons.

Better yet, get an adapter. A whole 1 button. You will be grateful, or you will get the hose again.
