It needs to be able to open certain programs at prelisted times, such as load a winamp playlist and gradually change the volume, open a firefox instance to a specific webpage, etc.

The few free ones I've found online tried to package in moderate amounts of spyware, had terrible UIs, and didn't have the options I'm looking for anyway.

Any help would be appreciated.

He burns down the houses they grew up in and the stores they work in, he kills people that owe them money. And like that he was gone. Underground. No one has ever seen him again. This is what I've been using, seems to work pretty well and has the features you requested. Don't know if it'll open Firefox to a specific site though.

Edit: On further testing it will open Firefox, just to your homepage though.

Does the audio bit and fade in perfectly, nice UI. I'll be using it unless something else that can do more comes along, thanks.

Still hoping to find something that will allow me to run anything though.

I was gonna recommend Citrus also. I don't generally use PC alarms though because my computer is a space heater.

Is something wrong with "scheduled task"?

Create a new shortcut on your desktop, and when prompted for the location of the item, use the URL of the website you want to open (this will create a shortcut icon that links to a webpage, and will open in your default browser).

Cut and paste this shortcut into somewhere that it won't annoy you with it's presence.

Then, in the alarm settings on Citrus, select the shortcut as your "alarm media".

Poof!

Bite me.

No, Really. Bite me.

Why don't you do these things with windows native task scheduler?

Just tried it.

It won't run a task unless I supply a password, and it won't accept any password I've ever used for Windows.

The file you selected may not have an associated player. It is recommended that you test the alarm by pressing the Test button to verify this. If the media you selected does not play, you should install an application capable of handling that media type.

This is the result of both attempting to set the shortcut as the media and pressing the Test button.

did you try just leaving it blank? If you haven't specified a login password that may be the case.

Also make sure you're trying to run the task as yourself and not as someone else.

It runs internet shortcuts fine. I just tried it myself.

Yes and I did.

I can't run anything.

You should probably be able to execute firefox with a URL as a parameter and have it load the page.

If you can pass parameters using whateverhtefuck, that is.
