I am building a gameing PC to run Oblivion or some future games..

How do these choices look:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16817103013

Ram:G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Unbuffered Dual Channel Kit System Memory Model F1-3200PHU2-2GBNS - Retail
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16820231047

My budget falls around 700 bucks. I have a nice case.. and I'm searching slickdeals for new SATA drives. I currently have a few basic ATA drives for it.

Any thoughts on the ram? I'm not to sure about ram..

But all opinions are welcome. Thanks in advance.

Sparkle Power = frutiest fucking name for a power supply.

They're reliable though. Used to put them into dumb terminals for a client. Cheap and they never wore out.

I'd wait a bit, AMD is gonna be launching their new socketed processor, with DDR2 support and all that jazz.

Not a bad build. RAM looks good tooo. 2.5-3-3-6 timings aren't too shabby. Should have some room to over clock if you wanted too.

The thing that will hold you back the most is going to be the video card. However it's really hard to get anything better to fit into your price range.

Personally, I'd consider waiting for the AM2 socket. They'll be pumping those out in the next couple months, and they'll have DDR2 support. That's about the biggest change, but because of the onchip memory controler AM2 won't be compatible with 939.

Here's some changes I made..

Antec 550w powersupply

7900GT for video card

This Ram:

Coolest thing is I bought everything of Hardforums(someone linked from here linked it a few days back)... and I stayed under my 700 dollar budger and ended up with a way better setup.

You don't need that much. You could easily afford to drop closer to 450w and save a few extra bucks. Maybe some brand name RAM if you're paranoid about unknown companies. Or perhaps a bigger HDD.

It's retarded to look at power supplies by their total output these days anyway.

Look for a power supply that has dual 12 volt rails at somewhere around 18-19 amps each and you will be able to run just about any video card out there.
