I got my tax returns back today. $1,500 bucks. I actually did something financially responsible with it for once. I owed 1,700 on my big credit card from various moving expences, christmas, and getting a new clutch on my car.
Now I'm debt free. You have no idea how good that feels.
AMERICA...... FUCK YEAH!

Don't worry. I've got their backs.

Yeah, me too. But it's all stuff that my dad owes me for. I paid that bitch off 3 months ago. Just waiting for him to slowly reimburse me.

Actually, paying off debt frees up the credit card company's finances so someone else can go into debt, perhaps quite legitimately, say for entrepreneurship or an expensive medical procedure. It's all abstracted quite a bit, but paying off your debt isn't going to hurt any debtor. Not by a long shot.

There's something satisfying about living beneath your means. Not as satisfying as buying everything you want, probably, but eh. I don't know what I'm missing.
