Bored, decided to post a thread asking what kind of NES games you played and enjoyed as a kid in hopes of getting ideas on what more I should beef up my collection with. I really love getting all these games and playing 'em is just great fun. (And it's cheap too. )

So yeah, suggestions on what kinda games I should get. Sidescrollers, Zelda-ish adventure games, great 2 player games, and pretty much anything that's good. Nothing is really expensive in the NES world I've found out (I think Final Fantasy is one thing that's over 20 bucks, but nothing really past that.) I'm looking for Chip and Dale: Rescue Rangers 2 and Bubble Bobble already.

The games I already own:

8 Eyes
A Boy and His Blob
Adventure Island
Air Fortress
Astyanax
Bad Dudes
Batman: The Video Game
BurgerTime
Castlevania
Castlevania II: Simon's Quest
Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse
Clash at Demonhead
Contra
Dash Galaxy in the Alien Asylum
Disney's Chip 'N Dale: Rescue Rangers
Disney's Darkwing Duck
Disney's DuckTales
Disney's The Little Mermaid
Donkey Kong Classics
Double Dragon
Double Dribble
Dr. Mario
Dragon Warrior
Excitebike
Faxanadu
Fester's Quest
Friday the 13th
Ghosts 'n Goblins
Gradius
Ice Hockey
Ikari Warriors II: Victory Road
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
Joe & Mac
King's Knight
Lunar Pool
Mega Man
Mega Man 2
Mega Man 3
Mega Man 4
Mega Man 5
Mega Man 6
Metal Gear
Metroid
Mighty Bomb Jack
Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!
Milon's Secret Castle
Monster Party
NARC
Ninja Gaiden
Pac-Man
Paperboy
Pro Wrestling
Silent Service
Spy vs. Spy
StarTropics
Super Mario Bros. 2
Super Mario Bros. 3
Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Arcade Game
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: The Manhattan Project
Tennis
The Addams Family
The Adventures of Bayou Billy
The Legend of Zelda
The Simpsons: Bart vs. The Space Mutants
Track & Field
Track & Field II
TROG!
Trojan
Wayne's World
Willow
WWF WrestleMania
Xevious
Zelda II: The Adventure of Link
Zoda's Revenge: Star Tropics II

P.S. If anyone knows good places online to get cheap old games (NES, SNES, Genesis, etc.) other than eBay, I'd love some suggestions.

Crystallis. You must get this.

Also, if you don't mind Dragon Warrior 1-ish graphics and like slightly odd RPGs, look for a game called White Lion. Not the best, but it was kinda different.

Adventures of Lolo, Adventures of Lolo 2. Action-puzzle type games, but fun.

I've seen Crystallis and I have heard good things about the Lolo games. I'll check out White Lion, but I can't remember seeing it at the places I've been too..hmm..

OMG you need Bionic Commando, one of the best NES side scrollers made

You couldn't jump but instead have a mechanical extendable arm that you use to pull yourself up walls, swing from ceilings, pull items to you or repel enemies in order to buy space to shoot 'em. Collect and choose different weapons and items, even a handful of top down mini-stages around the map. Freaking classic, i played that game to death and back

Oh, and you fucking rock for having Milon's Secret Castle already

I second Bionic Commando.

I second it with a hard on, and a tub of popcorn.

If this was supposed to be Ikari Warriors, then arrrrgh no. I hate the one I have. I can't imagine it being better than it's sequel. The gameplay is so wretched. >_<

Oh, you also need the original Final Fantasy

That game was so hilariously hard, you go from one area to the next in the progression and you go from wholly owning the mobs to getting curbstomped into oblivion in 3 attacks... classic!

I'll pass on that until it's actually given to me. I don't like paying lots of money for games I dislike.

Why couldn't FF2 be released statewide.

Has anyone tried that Gamefly service? They've got some sort of free trial, but I'm too lazy and jaded to even give it a try.

Guardian Legend and Bionic Commando I second.

The manual doesn't tell you, but the bosses in the Overhead fights drop continues. If you don't get a few, you lose when you run out of lives (easy to do).

The chances of finding an NES game with a manual is very not good*. I think I have 3...Castlevania III I found near-mint with the box (score), The Addams Family has one and an ad for "Buy Nintendo Power Subscription and get a Game Atlas!", and Metal Gear which has art that makes Solid Snake REALLY look like Tom Cruise.

I mean he really really looks like him.

*outside of paying more than it's worth on ebay obv

Deva Vu was amazing.

Bionic Commando, however, was one of the best games ever made.

"He lets the last Hungarian go, and he goes running. He waits until his wife and kids are in the ground and he goes after the rest of the mob. He kills their kids, he kills their wives, he kills their parents and their parents' friends. He burns down the houses they grew up in and the stores they work in, he kills people that owe them money. And like that he was gone. Underground. No one has ever seen him again. He becomes a myth, a spook story that criminals tell their kids at night. 'If you rat on your pop, Keyser Soze will get you.' And nobody really ever believes." - Roger 'Verbal' Kint, The Usual Suspects

You guys are really diggin' this Bionic Commando thing.

Great thing is that at my local store that still sells NES games, they have it (and at least 3 of the other games mentioned with a buy 3, get 1 free sale) for like 4 or 5 bucks.
