I have never seen HDDs mounted sideways like that, and I'm not sure I like it.
Antec sonata case. Makes it EXTREMELY easy to add/remove hard drives, and the plugs are very easy to access this way. I have the same case, and I love it.
No, Really. Bite me.
Some people are like Slinkys... Not really good for anything, But they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.
As for the side mounted hard drives, I like them for all the same reasons Burger mentioned. The only problem (at least in my case) is that the hard drive is so close to the side of the case that you need a cable with a 90 Degree bend. I haven't bothered to get one so I just broke the case off mine and bent the wires as you can see in the image. It works but I worry about shorting it out sometimes.

This is what Sean is doing. This is what I want Sean to do :I have never seen HDDs mounted sideways like that, and I'm not sure I like it.
Actually, it's a fairly common setup for SATA drives. I actually like it - it looks odd if you're not used to it, but once you've worked with the layout, it's actually very appealing.

Pesco probably says this to all the girls:
No pics but here are the details:
AMD Athlon64 X2 4200+
ASUS A8N-SLI Premium
2gb DDR400
120GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive
A pair of SLI'ed GeForce 7800GTs w/ 256megs each
Damn fine setup. Do you find the SLI gives you much of a performance boost? It seems like a lot of Cash to drop unless it really blows you away.
Second... would have pics but my cam was shattered into a million pieces in a freak trampoline accident...
Third...
My specs for my franken computer that I put together for 120 bucks because I had friends with bits and pieces laying around. Since I'm lazy you get the dxdiag formatting.

It is decent, I can run any of my games at their maxed out settings at 1600x1200 without any problems. I rarely dip below 30 FPS from what I've seen. I tend to hover 35 - 50+.
But I'm definately not going to tell anyone it is a must-have. Pesco fucked around with this message on 12-22-2005 at 06:43 PM.
AMD XP2800+ on an Asus A7N8X with a 333mhz FSB
1.5gb corsair XMS extremely low latency ram
GeForce 5500 128mb (cos my crappy 5700 256 decided to not work when I came back )
120mb hard drive with a 2mb cache or something
It WAS really really good... in 2003. Fux
Laptop:
Hp Pavillion zv5000
AMD 3200+

I usually end up just using my laptop to play games, and it looks like I am going to be stuck with this stuff for a while. And I really wanted to play FEAR too, lol.

some ram stolen from my main machine (either 256 or 392MB)
spare 6.4 GB IBM hdd
Mini-atx PSU
