No effin clue. I just know I've heard it mentioned amongst friends and thought people might be interested. First one is mega-rare.

I know MorbId has the original(and Xenogears, fucker). He likes it a lot. It is based roughly on Norse mythology so must be good!

Hard to explain, it was pretty unique. It's pretty much about a valkyrie whose job is to collect the souls of the fallen and send them to Valhalla to bolster Odin's ranks for the soon-arriving Ragnarok. You fly around Midgard picking up dead people (each with their own story) and fighting through dungeons to beef them up and collect items and whatnot. The game is chapter-based and you have a limited number of times you can enter dungeons, towns and places where you collect souls before a chapter ends. You get bonuses for sending requested souls (we need archers/mages/people over x level). The fighting system is where the meat of the game lies because of its complexity. Each of the face buttons initiates an attack from a member in your party. These attacks can be stringed together into combos or juggles against enemies to maximize damage, so you have to play around with how certain party member's attacks effect the enemy and how to time them with the attacks of other party members (one guy knocks an enemy into the air, another guy shoots the enemy in mid-air, a third jumps up and knocks the enemy down into a second attack being lauched by the first person, etc).
It really is a fantastic game, and it's a shame it's so rare.
There are two other valkyries other than Lenneth you meet in the first one. The 'evil' one whose name I forget, and Silmeria, who is trapped inside a crystal for some reason that is never revealed. Apparently, while each valkyrie has her own soul, they all share the same body and only one is truly 'awake' while the others remain dormant. See now if I'd read a review like that at the time I would've gotten the game.

I've also got Suikoden II, when it comes to strangely rare PS1 RPGs.
This news definitely fills me with joy, and is something I've been hoping for since the Square-Enix merger. It doesn't look like they're sticking with 2D, which is a little upsetting. If they can improve or just translate the combat system, it should be amazing, though.
The evil Valkyrie was Hrist. She looked about the same as Lenneth, but with black armor. I could've sworn Hrist and Lenneth were active at the same time at one point, though it has been a long time since I played the game.
Judging from the title, this one is going to be about Silmeria, and maybe how she ended up in that crystal. Wasn't it in Bram's castle?
It also had three very different endings. The game tossed in a very difficult bonus dungeon with a couple Star Ocean enemies once you'd finished Hard mode, too.

I believe there was one instance where the group went back in time momentarily and witness Hrist with her Einherjar destorying the town where Barbarosa is, though I can't remember if Lenneth was actually with your party then.
